Grand Canyon vs Chicago State Preview and Prediction
Grand Canyon vs Chicago State Preview
It’s been a long season for Chicago State (3-22, 0-10). A very long season. In the midst of a potential 30-loss season, the Cougars are home for the second straight game as they look to pick up their first conference win of the season.
Their opponent, Grand Canyon has other ideas.
The Antelopes (14-10, 7-4) have lost three straight games and need to bounce-back in order to stay afloat in the WAC. After their latest loss, 87-75 to UMKC, the Antelopes have slipped into a three-way tie for second place with CSU Bakersfield and Texas-Rio Grande Valley.
A matchup against the Cougars is exactly what the doctor ordered. Grand Canyon crushed CSU on Jan 16th by 34 points, 80-46.
In that contest nine GCU players scored, led by Carlos Johnson with 12. Grand Canyon shot 29 of 56 (51.8 percent) from the floor and defensively collected 10 steals. Rob Shaw had a not so favorable double-double for Cougars as he finished with 12 points on 6-for-11 shooting but committed 10 of his team’s 23 turnovers.
