Hard Knocks Rams

If this season of Hard Knocks is going to be indicative of the Rams first season in Hollywood, they just don’t have enough A-listers to keep people tuning in.

The HBO crew is doing a fabulous job as usual, but this cast of characters just isn’t box office.

We start the episode with another Gregg Williams tirade, then a tribute to Rams strength coach Rock Gullickson. Gullickson is twice the age of most of the Rams locker room, and can still put in twice the work in the weight room. Good thing too, because he will be the guy to inform players of their fate by episode’s end.

Then we talk about Jared Goff. I know the Rams can’t/won’t say this, so I’ll say it for them, they wish they had the number overall pick back. Goff just doesn’t look good, even for a rookie. He is having a hard time adjusting to the speed of the NFL game, and grasping the playbook. In my opinion, they had what they wanted in Goff all along, and his name is Case Keenum.

Will Hayes finally met his mermaid. Then, still refuted the existence of dinosaurs despite scientific evidence at Dino Quest.

We then see the intensity picking up in practice as players fight. We follow that up with a little family and friends time away from football.

We got to see Lamarcus Joyner pout, and Tavon Austin get paid.

The Rams would travel to Denver for their third preseason contest, and drop their first game away from Los Angeles. The defense appeared to gel a bit, but much of the offense looked dazed and confused.

Then we get to cut down day. There was not much to see here. None of the guys cut were spotlighted at any time during the first four episodes.

Next week is the season finale and the build up at this point is who will get cut from the guys who’ve been spotlighted in the series. Eric Kush, Paul McRoberts, Austin Hill. Will they all survive the cut?

Stay tuned for the finale…
