Haven’t I seen this before?
Have you ever went to see a movie thinking this sounds interesting. Then while watching your brain says, wait we have seen this already. There is no way you could have because it’s new and just came out.
I remember a few years ago I loved the movie Without a Paddle, so naturally I think I will like its sequel. Wrong! It was boring and too much like the first movie but with lesser known actors. I couldn’t help but feel that way with the new Hands of Stone movie.
Although the actors who starred in it did a wonderful job it felt like I was watching Rocky or Million Dollar Baby all over again. Kid struggles has a rough life, has a talent for boxing, trains with a retired pro, goes up against a formidable fighter, beats the odds the underdog wins.
Although I can’t speak for everyone I am tired of copycat and movie remakes. I know on rare occasions new actors, props, cgi or a director can make a better film than the original but I prefer something unique. I want something that entertains me and makes me feel something. Be it fear, sadness, happiness or something I haven’t felt before.
That being said, I really must put this out there no new Crow remake. I know some want it, I don’t. Brandon died making it, it would be like a smack in the face for him. There now I got that out of my system.
So let’s hope Hollywood gives us new original material soon. Until I see you guys again, I hope your dreams come true!
