The Houston Baptist Huskies (1-1) will head north looking for an upset of the Wisconsin Badgers (2-0) on Saturday night.

HBU is coming off an impressive victory 75-72 over Fordham in their home opener. Sophomore Ian DuBose currently leads the Huskies in scoring with an average of 13.5 points per game after matching his career-high with 23 points in the victory. He was a model of efficiency connecting on 8-of-10 from the floor, including 3-of-4 from behind the arc and 4-of-5 from the free throw line.

Two more sophomores make up the trio to watch if HBU is going to have any chance of upsetting Wisconsin.

Philip McKenzie is leading the team in rebounding with an average of 6.5 boards per outing while Oliver Lynch-Daniels, also a sophomore, is tops on the team with six assists.

The team is young and talented showing to be dangerous the next few seasons–but in 2018, against this Wisconsin team, they will face an uphill battle.

The Badgers will have to come in focused after their last outing, where they settled the score against Xavier in a 77-68 victory. It was the third time the teams have played in the last four seasons. The Badgers upset the Musketeers 66-63 in the 2016 NCAA Tournament. Xavier won in Madison 80-70 last season.

Ethan Happ followed his triple-double in Wisconsin’s opener with another dominant performance against the Musketeers scoring 30 points and hauling in 13 rebounds.

Wisconsin snapped Xavier’s 41-game winning streak at home against non-conference opponents.

D’Mitrik Trice scored a career-high 22 points, making all five of his shots from beyond the arc. Trice missed the last 23 games last season with a foot injury and has made a big impact in his return. He scored a career-high 21 points against Coppin State, going 5 of 9 from beyond the arc.

He gives UW a three-point threat they desperately missed last season.

Prediction

This game likely won’t be close almost from the opening tip, unless the Badgers come in severely unfocused and underestimating this Huskies team.

That isn’t likely–so enjoy the first five minutes of this game because the final 35 minutes will be filled with blowout basketball.

The line is not available at the time of this writing, but it will be between 20-30 points. Wisconsin are 8-2 in their last 10 games ATS.
