‘I Hart Food’ First Episode Review
If you haven’t already heard, Monday night marked the premiere of I Hart Food, a new show on Food Network starring YouTuber Hannah Hart (MyHarto on YouTube), the creator of the web series, My Drunk Kitchen. In Monday night’s premiere, Hart traveled to Santa Fe, New Mexico to discover the world of chili peppers and the important role it plays in the city’s identity. We learn about the difference between red and green peppers through Hart’s genuine fascination and signature puns. Through the show, we learn interesting fun facts like how peanut butter and jelly can help with toning down the spice the way milk does.
The show delivers as a cross between a food show and a travel show, dropping small tidbits about the city by following Hart through interviews with local chefs and restaurant customers. We learn about the star dish or ingredient that represents the city as a whole as Hart does in the premiere and I expect nothing less from the episodes to follow. I Hart Food may only be an eight-episode series but being a long-time fan of the YouTuber, I, for one, can’t wait to see the rest of the episodes in the upcoming weeks or even better, to see the show gain a second season on the Food Network. If you missed the premiere, you can watch it in all of its entirety here:
I Hart Food is on every Monday night at 10/9c on the Food Network.
