Ifo Ekpre-Olomu- Cornerback- Oregon
Size: 5’10 195lbs

  • Solid hip movement
  • Instinctive- keeps head on a swivel
  • Good tackler- unafraid
  • Good ball skills
  • Aggressive in pass coverage
  • Can play outside, or cover the slot

Analysis: Ekpre-Olomu is a great cover corner who moves his hips without losing stride or speed.  He can play in both man or zone coverage, and can excel playing outside or even in the slot.  For a player under 200 pounds, Ekpre-Olomu is not afraid to lower his shoulder and make a tackle.  He can be a defensive playmaker at the next level.

Need to improve:

  • Injured- suffered knee injury before College Football Playoff
  • Relies on physical ability- lacks technique
  • Too aggressive- tries to bait QBs
  • Relies on speed he does not have

Analysis: Ekpre-Olomu has been a force in the Pac-12 while playing at Oregon; he has done so by relying solely on his physical abilities.  He lacks technique for the defensive back position, as one AFC South scout said, “He’s tough and has ball skills.  He’s just being asked to go play right now but he’ll get the right technique work in our league and watch how good he becomes then.  He’s going to be great.”

Round prediction: 2
