Is a Jon Jones return to the UFC in the near future?
Surprise, surprise. Take this with a grain of salt, the news of Jon Jones returning to the octagon for a possible third fight with Daniel Cormier is very possible sometime in the near future. Just a few months ago in September, Jon Jones shocked the world yet again for being busted for doping after his dominant performance over Cormier at UFC 214. Though the thoughts of Jones and doping was no surprise, fight fans around the world thought Jon “Bones” Jones was back for good to cement himself as the goat of MMA.
On the former middleweight champions “Believe You Me” podcast Michael Bisping revealed that USADA VP Jeff Novitzky spoke to him about the craziness going on with Jon Jones, and Bisping stated that ultimately there’s a very good chance that Jon Jones might get acquitted from his recent drug test failure. Mind blowing right? I believe it was September 14th when the memes were pouring in over Jones and his drug addiction, which obviously is no joke and I hope to god that Jones can get his life together for the sake of himself and his family before he goes back to fighting. With that said is Jones is cleared don’t be surprised for another blockbuster fight featuring Jones vs Cormier from the title yet again.
Obviously we’re still waiting for more news because this could also be just a smoke screen, and be nothing at all. Bisping also went on to say that Novitky told him that USADA is doing all they can to test on all these tainted supplements, so some sort of loophole of technicality can be in favor on Jon Jones. With USADA spending loads of money on these supplements this whole case with Jones and the UFC can get pretty interesting headed into 2018. There’s also no telling if this would open the door for other fighters who have been suspended due to testing positive from tainted supplements.
