‘IT’ Sequel Coming In 2019
Stephen King’s smash hit IT blew the top off of the box office this month when it made $478.1 million globally and there have been rumors of a sequel in the works ever since. On Monday, Warner Bros. announced that there will indeed be a sequel and it will be released on September 6th, 2019.
Bill Skarsgard has been greeting rave reviews about his performance as Pennywise the clown and will be returning. Also returning will be one of the screenwriters, Gary Dauberman who will be writing the sequel. In this one, the story will take place 27 years later, just like in the book and original film. The Losers Club will reunite and return to Derry to fight IT again. Fans have been left wondering who will play the adult versions of Bill, Ben, Beverly, Richie, Mike, Eddie and Stanley since the first movie premiered but there has been no word yet on casting. The internet is sure having fun though with fan casting. It will be very interesting to see who they pick.
IT finished second at the box office this weekend, behind the new released Kingsman sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
