Jared Leto to play Hugh Hefner
Is that you, Hef? Just days after Hugh Hefner’s death, it was announced Monday that Jared Leto will play the Playboy mogul in an upcoming biopic about him which is being directed by Brett Ratner (The Revenant).
Hefner had previously given his blessing to the project back in April, saying: “In recent years there has been plenty of interest and much conversation about doing a feature film based on my life. I have always believed that when the timing was truly right, the perfect creative partners would come together for this project. I believe we’ve found those partners in Brett Ratner and RatPac Entertainment. I’m very much looking forward to this collaboration.”
Will this be another award-worthy movie for Leto? He has previously won an Academy Award and an Oscar for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club. He has been known to be quite the method actor so it should be interesting to see how far he takes this role. What are your thoughts on this casting? Let us know.
