Jermaine Gresham has a contract offer from the New Orleans Saints
Former Cincinnati Bengals tight end Jermaine Gresham remains unsigned, but he continues to receive interest from clubs. Back in June, Gresham visited the Saints and although he left without a contract, reports are indicating not only did New Orleans offer him a deal but the offer still stands over a month later.
Gresham is scheduled to continue to visit teams, he is meeting with the Arizona Cardinals this week and is expected to sign somewhere before training camp begins. Entering his sixth NFL season, Jermaine is not the play-making tight end most thought he would be when he came out of Oklahoma University, but he is a solid player who can contribute to a team both blocking and receiving.
With the loss of Jimmy Graham in New Orleans, Gresham could fit in nicely with Drew Brees in the Saints offense, but do not expect Graham-type numbers. Josh Hill would still be ahead of Gresham on the Saints depth chart and it is Hill who possesses the most fantasy value.
Within the next two weeks, I expect Gresham to latch on with a new team and I have the Saints as the leaders to land one of the few tight ends left on the market.
