Can Ryan Fitzpatrick beat the Patriots? His 1-6 career record says otherwise. (Getty Images)

The undefeated 5-0 New England Patriots will host the 4-1 New York Jets in an AFC East showdown that many are calling the matchup of Week 7. The Jets certainly have the defense to somewhat contain Tom Brady and the seemingly unstoppable Patriots offense, but the real battle will be when the Jets offense is on the field. Can they put up the points to keep up with the Pats?

If they do, a lot of the offense will fall on quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick’s shoulders, and that is where the issues start for Gang Green. Ryan Fitzpatrick has a career record of 1-6 against the Patriots and has been intercepted 17 times to only 13 TDs. If the Jets want to pull off the upset victory they will need the bearded wonder to play better than he ever has against New England. Not likely.
