John RossBengals rookie receiver John Ross may be the fastest player on the roster, but he won’t get to highlight that speed until he recovers from injury. Ross broke the 40-yard dash record at the Scouting Combine while dealing with a shoulder injury that required surgery after the Combine. That surgery may require Ross to miss the start of training camp.

According to Bengals.com, Ross won’t be on the field “until early August or so.” The Bengals’ first training camp practice is July 29.

As long as he returns by the scheduled timeline, the Bengals brass won’t have too much concern, but should the recovery linger into mid-to-late August we could see Ross slip down the depth chart or just have a steep learning curve come the regular season.
