Just a Touch- Review of Little Mix’s New Music Video
The biggest UK girl group since the Spice Girls, Little Mix dropped the music video to their new single, Touch on January 19th, causing quite the commotion.
Little Mix were the first (and still only) group on The X-Factor UK to win the whole show in 2011 and the girls have been crushing it ever since. Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, and Jesy Nelson make up the quartet. Over the years they have been praised and recognized for their flawless acapellas, on point performances, and fun pop music.
While they are incredibly underrated here in the U.S., they are one of the biggest acts in the U.K. at the moment. Every one of their four albums have gone platinum and their recent album, Glory Days made history by spending the most weeks at number one in the U.K. by a girl group this millennium, dethroning Destiny’s Child who previously held that title.
Some of their other accomplishments include having the fifth biggest tour by a girl group ever with their Get Weird Tour, being the best-selling western girl group this decade, and securing four U.K. number 1 singles in their career.
In October of last year, they released their first single off of Glory Days, called Shout Out to My Ex, which was a huge hit and secured them their fourth number one single in the U.K. The video dropped shortly after and currently has over one hundred and fifty million views on YouTube.
On December 5, 2016, Touch was announced as the second single from the album and fans have been highly anticipating the video since the announcement was made.
The video, directed by Director X and Parris Goebel, starts off over looking a colorful maze and pans to Leigh-Anne who starts off the song. She is seen sensually dancing with several male dancers, known as the Mix Men. She’s wearing a two-piece outfit reminiscent of a sweater with a choker to match and thigh-high white boots. She looks breath-taking as slowly leans back and male dancer gently holds her head up.
We then see Perrie who sings the hook. She is also in thigh-high white boots and wears a pink sweatshirt with a nude corset on top of it. Her look is by far the most unique. She’s also surrounded by the Mix Men and dances with them. Her blue eyes are captivating during close-ups and seem to sparkle.
The Mix Men are in pastels, some are shirtless all look amazing and dance incredibly. They enhance the video without taking too much attention away from the girls, which is a perfect balance.
As the chorus starts “Just a touch of your love is enough to knock me off of my feet all week” Perrie, Leigh-Anne, Jesy, and Jade form a line and dance in perfect synchronization. The dance moves are simple, but interesting and fun. They are then seen individually dancing through out the multicolored maze.
Jesy takes the second verse, looking confident and beautiful in her green and black leotard, designed with zippers and a matching choker. She has on black thigh-high boots along with her leotard. She is also joined by the Mix Men as she dances on the floor.
Jade absolutely kills the second hook. She, like Jesy is wearing a leotard and thigh-high black boots. Her leotard is green and white. She has the most choreographed part out of all the girls. The dancing is smooth and clean-cut, and easily one of the best parts of the video.
During the second chorus, the camera pans through the maze to the individual girls sitting in a chair while a dancer either caresses them or dances near them. They then dance in perfect sync, with a few Shakira-esque moves thrown in.
The bridge is slower than the rest of the song and we can see the girls being touched and kissed by the Mix Men. It is a very intimate moment in the video and the last time we see the Mix Men.
The chemistry between Little Mix and their dancers is amazing. It’s incredibly believable and makes for a pretty steamy video. The girls themselves look and sound amazing. It is clear they put a lot of hard work and effort into the video and also had fun while filming. The music video goes perfectly with the song.
I think the video is pleasing to the eye with flawless dancing, beautiful set, and bright, fun colors than can always be found in a Little Mix video. The song is the perfect club banger with a pulsing beat that makes you want to dance and gets stuck in your head all day in the best way possible.

Fans are hoping this video will be a key part in Little Mix getting more recognition in the states, and they may be right seeing as after almost a week it has almost twenty million views and counting. Next month, the girls will be in the states, opening for Ariana Grande on the Dangerous Woman Tour. In May of this year, they are having their own tour, kicking off in the U.K. that is expected to be even bigger than the Get Weird Tour.
These girl cannot and will not be stopped!
