Justin Houston cashes in and lands with the Colts
After a quiet week to start of free agency, the Indianapolis Colts went out and addressed a dire need, defensive end.
If the Colts were going to go out and spend big money in free agency, there was no question that defense should’ve been the first thing that came to mind for the Colts.
With a lack of big names remaining in the free agency pool, general manager Chris Ballard went out and signed a player that he’s very familiar with, Justin Houston.
The deal is worth $24 million, for over two years. Although the Chiefs released Houston prior to free agency, the All-Pro rusher had nine sacks alone in 2018.
Welcome to the Colts, Justin @JHouston50 !

With a move like this it should help Indy move up from 19th defensively, where they ranked last season. Just ask Andrew Luck, the Colts need all the help they can get right now.
Houston’s leadership will be felt more, rather than his performance now that he’s in his later years. Houston has dealt with numerous knee injuries, but with Ballard having spend time with the Chiefs between 2013-2016, both guys should have a feel of how Houston will be utilized for the upcoming season.
