Kawhi Leonard

The San Antonio Spurs just can’t catch a break with their All-Star Forward, Kawhi Leonard. The 2017-18 season has been a roller coaster for the five time champions with both Tony Parker and Kawhi missing time to start the season. The aging veteran Parker has returned after a gruesome Achilles injury that he suffered during the Western Conference Finals last season against Golden State, but has returned, and is getting back to his old self.

For the young superstar Kawhi missed the first 27 games, and made his triumphant return, to only play nine games, and now he may be back on the shelf for possibly the rest of the season. Head coach Greg Poppovich said Wednesday “The pain wasn’t dissipating, it wasn’t going in the right direction, it was going the other way.” Kawhi was already nursing a partial tear in his left shoulder, so it’s no surprise to see the Spurs be very cautious and conservative with their All-Star. The Spurs currently are coming off a much-needed victory over the Brooklyn Nets 100-95, and look to remain within the top four seeds in the west until Kawhi is healthy enough to return, if possible.
