Killing Fields Episode 5 Recap
Last night’s episode of Killing Fields opened with Randy Patrick working on guns in his garage workshop. He says he believes he’s about to solve both Tynes and Singers cases. Trabion failed the polygraph miserably. The detectives go to the firing range to prove they can still be cops.
Shameka is going back to the sheriff’s office for more questioning. The detectives decide to lie about DNA on a pillowcase to get Shameka to talk. Potter will play good cop. Patrick bad cop. The other detectives will watch via cameras.
She at first denies she knows anything but then finally breaks down when Patrick confronts her.
She says she was at Johnnie’s place having sex. Her husband at the time, Trabion Tynes, who is Johnnie’s son catches them. In a jealous rage he murders his father with a sledgehammer.
Coughlin, Potter and Patrick meet with a Commonwealth attorney to see if they have enough evidence to convict. She advised them to pull the same tactic on Trabion as they did his wife. They fear Shameka’s interview won’t hold up in court.
Parabond has developed the composite and are presenting detectives with a drawing of Carrie Singer killer.
They brief Carrie’s family on the latest developments. Carrie’s mom and sister share a letter and a special memory of Carrie telling her sister about pine tree seeds. They say they will find them in unexpected places. They feel like its Carrie’s way of telling them she’s still with them in spirit.
Carrie’s killer is Hispanic. After receiving the composite from Parabond they begin making calls to other law enforcement agencies. Later in the episode a cop from vice in Newport, Virginia thinks he’s found a suspect that could match the composite.
The detectives take a brief break from work by playing the dating game. Susan Morgan mainly directs her questions toward Patrick and Edwards. Edwards reply cracks everyone up.
Next week they check out the suspect that vice told them about.
