Killing fields season 2 episode 1 recap
Killing Fields is a true life crime show that airs on the Discovery Channel, Tuesdays at 10:00pm. It follows Sheriff Brett Stassi, Major Ronnie Herbert and the following detectives, Rodie Sanchez, Aubrey St. Angelo, Lori Morgan, Leslie Bradford and Brett Stassi Jr. The object of the show is to open and solve cold cases.
The first season begin on January 5,2016 in Iberville,Louisiana parish. The show is shot in real time and had a budget of $3,000,000.00 dollars its first season.
The show at this time, covers episode 3 cases. The main cases covered in great detail is the murder case of Eugenie Boisfontaine. In June of 1997 the young divorcee went missing after being last seen in LSU lake area. Two months later her decomposing body was found in the bayou. At first serial killer Derrick Todd Lee was suspected seen he had killed other women in the are. Nothing was proved against him in this case.
As season two starts detective Rodie vows he will not retire til the case is solved. In the first episode of this season the evidence is mounting against Eugenie ex husband who married and fathered a child with another woman one month after Eugenie’s death.
Another case featured is the murder of Curtis “cochise”Smith. Who disappeared February 21,1991. He went out to collect money from his boss who owed him and was never seen again. Tommy Francine confessed to shooting Smith ,stuffing his body in a barreland throwing it in the Mississippi river. Francine is free and has threatened detective Sanchez’s life. The investigation is opened still concerning Francine confession.
The final case for tonights episode is the murder of Brookstown Magnet Honor Society teacher Lyntell Washington. She and the assistant vice principal Robert Marks had an extra marital affair resulting in a pregnancy Mr. Marks abducted the five months pregnant teacher in a ditch on a sugar cane field. He abandon her 3 year old daughter with the car. He has been charged with kidnapping and first degree manslaughter and feticide.
