Killing fields

This special episode of Killing Fields opens with Rodie Sanchez saying Iberville is a killing field and an ideal spot to dump bodies. Maj. Ronnie Herbert and Detective Leslie get a call about a dead body reported in Whiskey bay area. Rodie has to sit this one out he is a cold case detective only. Aubry St. Angelo is out-of-town but joins detectives later.

The body is a woman, caucasian and nude. She has five tattoos on her body. Detective Lori and M. E. Ramirez also respond. The victim has bruises on her body and throat. Blunt force trauma to the head is what killed her. Fingerprints are taken and sent to the lab for identification.

Meanwhile detectives reach out to the media and get a tip line is set up. No leads come through there but after 11 hours the lab calls back and the victim’s name is Elizabeth Ann Ferrell. She has no parents father unknown, mother dead. A co-worker tells detectives Ferrell lived with a grandmother her husband and two daughters ages 5yr and 1 yr in Texas.

The husband Jonathan Allee is told of his wife’s death via phone by Herbert. The husband seems upset and shuts down when ask about for return of his wife’s body. He asks to speak with detectives the next day. Aubry is back in town. Again while trying to talk to the husband by phone he acts cagey. Herbert sends Aubry and detective James Snelson to Harris county texas.

Aubry and Snelson contact Harris county sheriffs for assistance. They oblige. Once at the victims home they ask the grandmother if they could search the property. Since it belonged to her se signs the waiver for evidence collection. Half way through the search Allee comes home. He’s willingly questioned by Aubry and Snelson at S.O. His answers are short and vague.

He says the past Thursday his wife asked for money he gave it to her, left for the sub shop and returned at 3:30 his wife was gone. He said he went about his day. And on Friday cleaned out his wife’s room for a baby crib. Detectives found this odd. He stated his wife had left him before and he knew she wouldn’t be back. When ask point-blank did you hit her he replied yes. At this time he becomes a suspect. He says he hasn’t been to Louisiana in three years. Aubry asks him to take a polygraph at first he says yes but quickly refuses and returns home.

Meanwhile a dispatcher patches a call through from a man saying he met Elizabeth Ferrell in a bar. They rented a motel room and had an affair. Her husband found out and the caller said he beat her because he saw the bruises. Herbert talks to Ferrell’s friends and co-workers all say she had been beaten by her husband on many occasions. One even said he threatened to kill her if she left him.

Tech detective Sanchez sifts through highway cameras and finds Allee car was caught on camera in Louisiana. They ask for an arrest warrant. Allee’s 5-year-old old was interviewed. She said mommy and daddy yelled a lot. She said her father told her they were going on an adventure that they rode 3 hours and daddy stopped in the road. He then got out and went to the back of the vehicle. He got out a large object and dumped it in the water. That object was the girl’s mother. After 5 weeks he was extradited to Louisiana. Charged with 2nd degree murder. Allee is in jail and is awaiting trial. Next week killing fields is on the trail of a serial killer.
