Dolphins_textlogo13   Knowshon Moreno looked like the prototypical fantasy bust heading into August.  For starters, he is on a new team that does not have a guy named Manning quarterbacking them.  Moreno came into minicamps out of shape, overweight, and then had arthroscopic knee surgery that held him out of a good chunk of training camp.  That surely has not given fantasy owners confidence in selecting Moreno on their team.  Then around week three of the preseason it all changed.  Moreno looked like his old self against the Dallas Cowboys rushing for over 60 yards on only ten carries, not a bad average of six plus yards a carry.  Now we must take that performance lightly, because Moreno did play possibly the worst defense in the history of the league in the Cowboys (I’m a Cowboys fan and it makes me cringe watching them play defense).  It was however, a step in the right direction.  With Moreno looking healthy and like his old self, rumors were that he would again challenge Lamar Miller for the starting running back duties.  The reason Moreno was given this opportunity again was not due to his play, but the lack of solid play from third year back Lamar Miller.   Miller has been given multiple opportunities since he’s been on the Dolphins to take hold of the starting job, but has never been able to produce on the field consistently enough.  Knowshon has a track record of on the field production, and head coach Joe Philbin knows that.  Rumors out of Miami say that even if Miller is listed the starter, he will be receiving less carries than Moreno on the field.  Moreno has shown that he is the superior back to Miller.  What this means in fantasy circles is if Moreno is available on your waiver system pick him up now, and if you have yet to draft you could grab Moreno well below value in the eighth round or later.
