Kris Dunn/John Wall Comparison
(USA TODAY Sports)

With Dunn being considered as one of the best guards in the draft, he has the tenacity and body to become a similar player to that of John Wall. In Dunn’s final season at Providence, he had similar numbers to Wall’s lone season in Kentucky, who averaged 16.6 PPG, 6.5 APG and 4.3 RPG and shooing 32.5% from beyond the arc. Dunn averaged 16.4 PPG, 6.2 APG and 5.3 RPG while increasing his 3PT stroke, making 37.2% of his treys. Although Wall was younger, and is more athletic than Dunn, the comparison is remarkable and shows how much Dunn has improved since his freshman season averaging a mere 5.7 points. Many knack Dunn for his age, being 22 years old already, but it could be a positive as he is seen as one of the most NBA-Ready players in the draft. Look for Dunn to have an instant impact on the team he gets drafted by and become a two-way star, with future All-Defensive team selections

Floor: Rajon Rondo

With Dunn’s being one of the most NBA ready players in this year’s draft, his floor his quite high, and is tied to another former Kentucky Wildcat, Rajon Rondo in his prime. And like Rondo, his shot making ability is in question, and whether he develop his jump shot to become a dangerous threat, Dunn can affect the game in several ways, whether it is facilitating, rebounding or as defensive specialist. In Dunn’s final season his numbers are also similar to Rondo’s final season, who averaged 11.2 PPG, 6.1APG, 4.9 RPG and 2.0 SPG. If Dunn doesn’t improve his shot ability, he could depend on driving the paint, and leading the league in assist, like Rondo once used to, while being a defensive specialist for his team.
