This article may make some people upset. For several years now there has been talk that Kurt Cobain did not commit suicide, but was murdered.

Last month I got word that some fans have decided to band together for a lawsuit against the Seattle police department. They are planning to sue them claiming negligence and tampering with evidence.

Several articles, books and one bio-pic have been written about the discrepancies in the case.
Lets begin with the supposed suicide note.Kurt Cobain

The suicide note was found with a red pen driven through the note. It was addressed to Kurt’s imaginary friend Boddah. The main body of the note appears to address not his suicide but an official notice that Kurt was leaving Nirvana. The last four lines are in a different handwriting than Kurt’s. No fingerprints were found on the pen or note. You can find a copy of the note in Max Wallace and Ian Halperin book Love and Death: The murder of Kurt Cobain on pages 146 to 147.

Now for the drugs involved. Kurt’s toxicology report was 1.52 milligrams of heroin. When I asked a local doctor what would happen if a person injected this much heroin in their system what would happen? The response was its a lethal dose. He would’ve been dead almost immediately. Yet when Kurt’s body was found the drug kit was neatly laying away from him. His sleeves were rolled down. All doctors except Nikolas Hartshorne said he couldn’t have pulled the trigger after shooting up that dosage of heroin.

Now the gun. A friend of Kurt’s purchased the Remington II 20 gauge shotgun light load. Light load means when you fire the gun it doesn’t shoot through walls injuring or killing someone on the other side. The shotgun was draped across Kurt’s chest with his left hand gripping the barrel so tight it had to be pried from his hand. It was facing backward with the trigger placed upward. It was loaded with three shells. The spent shell was to the right of Kurt. However the shell should have been ejected to the left. No fingerprints were on the gun.

This is just a sampling of the inconsistencies fans are saying points to Kurt being murdered. The police and the medical examiner Nikolas Hartshorne also declared the death a suicide before evidence could be gathered. The crime scene photos were never developed. I haven’t even read if they bagged his hands and test for gunpowder residue. The same day he died before the body left the greenhouse it was declared suicide.

In my state anyone in the medical examiner office or law enforcement office cannot declare a suicide until everything is gone over and tested. Which is making other people’s loved ones, people not as famous or just average people in Seattle question if the appropriate ruling was made in their death investigations. I’m so glad I’m not a Seattle PD cop right now. Fans aren’t backing down this time.

Approximately 68 copycat suicides have happened due to Kurt’s “suicide”. Private investigator Tom Grant has vowed not to stop fighting til the case gets reopened. The fans feel the same.

Kurt was loved by many, he was an underdog who had a less than ideal childhood. He felt unloved, a lost misunderstood bullied soul who spoke to the dejected wandering lost and heartbroken kids. On April 5, 1994 we lost our warrior but he will be our guardian angel now whose body may be gone but whose light shines.

For anyone whose thinking of adding to the copycat suicides don’t do it. Pay homage to Kurt through another means by a poem, song or painting. Or just listen to his music to remember him.

To those lost souls who are thinking of suicide not because of Kurt but because your alone, sad and going through something don’t do it. Things don’t stay the same. Everything changes. Even if you do not have someone right now, remember this at a later time you may be someone reason to breathe cause without you they couldn’t exist. In loving memory of Kurt Donald Cobain February 20,1967 to April 5,1994.
