Larry Donnell is Becoming a Must Start Fantasy Option
The tight end most NFL fans have never heard of coming into the 2014 season, is quickly becoming an Eli Manning favorite.
So far this season no one has taken Manning and the Giants offense seriously, as they at times have been a miserable mess. The tides seem to be turning in their favor after a nice week three win against the then undefeated Houston Texans. Not to toot our own horn, but that was an upset pick made here. The offense looked like they were starting to figure out offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo’s system en route to their first 30 point performance of the year. The effective running game lead by Rashad Jennings (34 car. 176 yards 1 TD) allowed Eli Manning to find success in the passing game.
Larry Donnell has been the one constant in the Giants passing game this year never receiving less than six targets in any game. Definitely not considered a speed tight end (4.9 40 yard dash) Donnell uses his 6’6 frame to his advantage against smaller defenders. Although he has not scored since his week one touchdown, he is still being targeted in the red zone so it will be only a matter of time until he adds to his total. Every game the Giants are becoming more comfortable in the offensive system, and it should continue to increase Manning and Donnell’s chemistry. We have Donnell ranked within the top ten this week, and it could continue into the season. The mammoth tight end is still available in over half of all fantasy leagues, which is unheard of for a potential top ten option.
