lucifer
Recently, I’ve started the Fox show, Lucifer, and I’m finally caught up as they’re now on their ninth episode of their third season. So now, on to the review.

the sinnerman 2

The victims in this episode were related to Lucifer; both of which are people he gave favors to, all of the evidence of which points to the Sinnerman, who killed these victims as a way to send some sort of message to Lucifer. Lucifer gets trapped in a storage room while he’s trying to find the guy and Chloe and Pierce come face to face with him during a shooting match, which ended in the Sinnerman getting arrested only to gouge his eye out so that the devil wouldn’t be able to ask him about his greatest desire.

Charlotte also starts her first day as a prosecutor working for the DA’s office which, with her history with them, isn’t really perceived very well by the rest of their group. But in her defense, her body was previously taken over by Lucifer’s mother for the last few months. With this new role reversal, Charlotte has good intentions but like Dan says, it’s hard to be the good guy.

lucifer love interests

This episode deals with not one budding romance but possibly two; Linda and Amenadiel and Chloe and Pierce, AKA the new lieutenant. I still don’t know how I feel about either of those relationships in all honesty but at the very least, they all deserve to be happy.

Overall, the best part of the episode was the Sinnerman. Although he did get arrested, we still don’t know what his real name is and it’s still unclear whether or not he is connected to the celestial world. He clearly knows that Lucifer is, in fact, the devil and that he has the power to bring out someone’s greatest desires without ever having met him, hence why he gouged his eyes out. I’m intrigued to learn more about the Sinnerman, who he is and what he wants in future episodes.

It’s still the beginning of the season but it already seems like the Sinnerman is being set up to be the big bad of the season, which hasn’t necessarily been how Lucifer has been designed in the past, so it’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the season unfolds.
