Lucifer Recap & Review: “Let Pinhead Sing!”
Last night on Lucifer, Dan tries to cheer Pierce up from his depressed mood, Lucifer distances himself from Chloe after the bomb scare from last week’s episode, and Charlotte tries to help mediate the situation between Maze and Linda.
Lucifer and Chloe investigate the murder of a backup dancer who died via a firework hitting her head-on. After this incident, the LAPD find it necessary to protect a singer, Azara, who may have been the original target. Lucifer decides that he wants to keep Chloe out of his father’s spotlight by focusing on everyone else at the precinct in fear that his father will take her away from him and becomes Azara’s personal bodyguard.
As the investigation progresses, Lucifer and Chloe are lead to yet another dead body, who turns out to be one of Azara’s crazed fans. But the despite the danger, Azara still wants to perform and ends up defying Lucifer and Chloe’s warning and she ends up singing in the lobby of Lux with Lucifer joining in for a duet. Turns out it was the singer’s assistant who killed both victims to try to stop Azara from going back on tour because she was in love with her.
Following Lucifer ending their partnership last episode, Pierce is in somewhat depressed after realizing that he still can’t figure out a way to get rid of his curse. Ella tries to cheer him up with a compliment box she creates for him but it unfortunately backfires. After that, she goes to Dan for help and he, with some help of Amenadiel, talk to him. Amenadiel then convinces Pierce to have faith with which he took it as inviting himself to Azara’s concert with Chloe, thus bringing back up the love triangle between Chloe, Lucifer, and Pierce.
I’m definitely still Team #Deckerstar as opposed to whatever Chloe and Pierce’s ship name would be but I am happy for Pierce because he’s finally starting to live a little. But Lucifer is still scared of losing Chloe; first because he was afraid of his father taking her away from him but now it’s about Pierce. Whether or not Chloe and Pierce are actually going to end up in a relationship together is still unknown but it would definitely make things interesting.
Meanwhile, the situation between Linda and Maze comes back, this time including Charlotte Richards after Linda is distracted during their therapy session. Prior to their session, Linda goes to Maze’s apartment to apologize and leaves an axe at her door as a present. After the slight role reversal in therapy, Charlotte decides to help settle the situation by getting the two to talk. But unfortunately, Linda apologizes for her actions but defends herself and Maze is still stubborn about not wanting to forgive her just yet.
Hopefully, the writers won’t extend this storyline for too long because Maze’s stubbornness and Linda’s selflessness is starting to get old. As far as Amenadiel and Linda goes, I feel for the two of them but at the same time, I understand why Maze is so upset. But regardless, I’m still holding out for Linda and Maze to get together.
