Just when you think the Panthers may have finally walked into their first loss in yesterday’s divisional trap game, they did what they do best and found a way to win. No surprise that the head of the snake in this comeback victory was this week’s Man Crush Cam Newton. Throwing for 331 yards, 5 touchdowns and 1 INT, Newton led the Panthers to their 15th regular season win in a row dating back to last season. The Panthers now sit at 12-0 and clinched the division with Atlanta’s loss earlier in the day.

Newton connected with eight different receivers yesterday in an offense that has been without Kelvin Benjamin since training camp. Greg Olsen, Newton’s favorite target had 9 catches for 129 yards to lead the team in receiving. Ted Ginn Jr. had two touchdowns despite dropping another two passes that were sure to be touchdowns if caught. Newton took a helmet to helmet hit attempting a rushing touchdown, which he would have had if he didn’t decide to slow down for some reason. He eventually went through concussion protocol but not until he threw another touchdown pass to seal the win. This is sure to spark some controversy.

Cam just continues to find ways to win every week and if he can stay healthy, this team may not lose a game the rest of the way. He has a great defense that didn’t have the best game yesterday, but has been able to take pressure off the offense for most of the year. He has to watch out for the defense when he decides to get out and run like he did in this game or Derek Anderson may be under center in the playoffs, safe to say no one wants that.  Congrats on another win Mr. Newton.
