No need to bs this week, let’s get straight to the chase!! And as always good luck to everybody in Week 2.

Man Up

Julio Jones

It’s only Week 2 in the NFL, but many fantasy players draft and decide their lineups based on emotions. Just ask managers who have Cam Newton and Mike Evans rostered. The trust we put into these players week in and week out is like a roller coaster ride, and some may feel that way with Julio Jones after Atlanta got dismantled by Minnesota. Although Jones did find the end zone in Week 1, the production was low, but this week against the Eagles Jones is not only a must start, he’s a guy worth paying big money on this week for daily lineups.

Derek Carr

Carr is an excellent streaming option this week on all platforms. The last time these two teams met, Carr threw for 285 passing yards and three touchdowns. The Oakland Raiders are going to have to put up points if they want to have a chance to defeat Kansas City, but as scary as the Chiefs offense is, their defense is horrendous. We saw that last week when Nick Foles and Gardner Minshew combined for 347 passing yards and three touchdowns against the Chiefs.

Kerryon Johnson

Nobody specializes in breaking the hearts of Lions fans, then the Detroit Lions. There were a lot of boneheaded mistakes towards the end of the game vs Arizona, but this is a new week and more importantly it’s their home opener. The backfield is a bit of a mess with Johnson splitting carries with C.J. Anderson, but the Chargers defense is already banged up a bit. On the road, Marlon Mack was able to run wild against this Chargers defense. This is a perfect scenario for Johnson to have a bounceback week against the Bolts.

Mecole Hardman

Chances are that Hardman is still available in some of your leagues and if he is, snatch him up. Don’t wait another week to where you’re going to have to use up some fab money or a high waiver pick for Hardman in case he goes off. Yes, he was targeted once against Jacksonville, but with Tyreek Hill sidelined for a few weeks expect the pace to pick up for Hardman. It’s worth noting that he wasn’t that far behind Sammy Watkins when it comes to snaps played.

Devin Singletary

Singletary is more of a flex play or for fantasy managers in deeper leagues, but don’t expect McDermott to consistently give Singletary four carries a game. It was nice seeing Singletary involved in the passing game as well. What’s more impressive is that Singletary managed to net 70 rushing yards on those four carries. He could be a sneaky play in week 2.

T.J. Hockenson

Another Lion on the list? Let’s go! Hockenson had an incredible NFL debut. Rookie tight ends are usually overlooked and it’s very possible that Hockenson could’ve balled out in Week 1 and does absolutely nothing in week 2. Would it be shocking? No. But, you managed to get him in the waiver wire and Stafford was able to put a lot of trust in his big framed tight end.

Step Aside

Aaron Jones

When are the Green Bay Packers going to give Aaron Jones a full workload? Not everybody has strong feelings about Jones, but if you are second-guessing yourself about playing Jones this would be the week. The Vikings held Devonta Freeman to 31 total yards, and traditionally the Vikings defense is consistently presenting problems for the Packers offense.

Emmanuel Sanders

First of all, big props to Sanders. It wasn’t even a year ago when Sanders tore his Achilles, and after a speedy recovery he’s running full speed on the field and scoring touchdowns.

It wasn’t late into the game though when Sanders got going. We all know that he has that explosiveness to him, but on a short week going up against the Bears defense, fantasy managers are probably feeling a little bit shaky with Sanders. The Bears defense is just too good and they’ll be pulling out all the stops on the Broncos.

Larry Fitzgerald

If there is a such thing as the fountain of youth, Larry Fitzgerald knows exactly where it is, and he and Frank Gore or hiding it from all of us.

Look at the old man strength at the end of this play. This isn’t so much about not believing in Fitz, it’s mainly with his matchup and the guy who’s throwing him the ball. Kyle Murray is going to have a long tough day against the Ravens defense and that won’t help benefit his teammates for the day.

Jamison Crowder

Listen, I’m all in on Crowder this season after seeing that he was able to be one of Sam Darnold’s security blankets. Crowder won’t always get 19targets and 14 catches per game, but with Darnold out indefinitely with mononucleosis Crowder is a flex at best in deep formats.

Le’Veon Bell

Yeah… let’s all listen to Dr. Bell. It’s likely that athletes to heal faster and deal with injuries quicker than non-athletes, but I’m a little worried if I have Bell rostered without much running back depth. Just look at his track record. Not only did he sit out all of last season, Bell has a history of injury. Nobody is benching Bell when it comes to fantasy, but you’ve got to temper expectations here.

Aaron Rodgers

The best part here is that the Packers will be hosting the Vikings in their season opener. As far as fantasy points here, Rodgers is hard to bench in any type of leagues, but it’s fair to say that Rodgers probably won’t be a league winner in week 2. The Vikings offense could be top 3 in the league at the moment, and this could be a low scoring defensive battle.
