First of all, from the bottom of my heart I apologize for not presenting a Thursday night edition of Man Up/Step Aside. I was slammed with errands, I was feeling light-headed, I had to pay my car, I wanted pizza but had no luck finding the one with the gluten-free crust and cheese, I wanted a Coke but Valero only had Pepsi products for some reason, I was about to start piecing together my article and then… I blanked out and fell asleep, but most importantly I’ll stop being a pansy, complaining and making up countless excuses, although I will say I caught a bit of a break because I would’ve had Amari Cooper, the guy who all of a sudden remembered how to play football again and had 11 receptions for over 200 yards and 2 TD’s last night when he torched the Chiefs secondary.

Laugh at that all you want, hell send me some hate mail I don’t care! I’m getting a kick out of a lot of you who would’ve agreed with me when it came to not believing in Cooper, because a lot of you benched him. Take a look.

Guess who didn’t bench Amari Cooper? This guy, but then again I didn’t start him because I have exactly zero stock in Cooper throughout my leagues. I’d love to see this again because now I’m wondering if Amari did all his scoring in one game, there’s a chance we might not see him blow up again until 2018. Regardless of what Cooper does the rest of the way he dug deep into his soul and rose to the occasion, and Maned Up to help his team possibly save their 2017 season. Here’s to you for sticking with me and giving me feedback on my column, and future cheers to you after you celebrate week 7 with a win by starting these guys who will Man Up, and staying away from those who will Step Aside.

Michael Thomas

I actually got Thomas for Adam Thielen in a league. Whether that trade seems unfair or not, Diggs could be out another week, so Thielen is going to get fed with targets yet again. However, it goes to show you some of the panicking people may be facing with Thomas. It’s hard to fathom the truth of Thomas gaining only 11 yards in a game in which the Saints put up 52 points, but three of those touchdowns were from the defense, and the running backs went off. Now going against a reeling Packers team, this should be a great bounce back game for Thomas.

Carlos Hyde

It’s pretty simple. The Cowboys get shredded by running backs and Matt Breida is not the guy as long as Hyde is healthy and starting.

Jay Ajayi

Last week, I had Ajayi stepping aside and he responded by putting up 130 yards on the ground in an awesome comeback against Atlanta on the road. The volume is there and shouldn’t be ignored. In his first meeting against the Jets earlier this season Ajayi couldn’t do nothing. I’m confident he can flip the script this time around.

Delanie Walker

Walker has been up and down this season, but still consistent for the most part. The Browns are a dumpster fire who don’t even know who will be playing quarterback for them this week and they have a hard time stopping tight ends.

Matt Ryan/Julio Jones/Devonta Freeman

Basically start all your Falcons players. This is going to be a high scoring game. Matt Ryan will be way over 300 yards, Julio should finally find the end zone here, and after blowing yet another lead last week, this time to Miami, Freeman should see more carries to help Atlanta manage the clock and not blow a lead here. What better way then to avenge your Super Bowl loss then by going into Foxborough and slamming the Pats.

Marlon Mack

Don’t let the matchup scare you. I’m not saying Mack is a must play RB 2 against the Jags, but the defense is allowing 5.4 yards to opposing runners. Robert Turbin is also out for the season and if the Colts want Frank Gore to live the rest of the year they’ll limit his workload and mix in Mack who can provide some huge upside.

Brett Hundley

Pretty easy call for various reasons. Hundley has a great supporting cast and knows this system very well, but the Saints have some playmakers on defense which is weird to say, being that they’ve been horrible on defense for years. Hundley could be in store to see what Stafford was going up against last week.

Sammy Watkins

Watkins has been  wanting the ball more and has been unhappy with his role. Well have fun trying to make your case with Patrick Peterson all over you.

T.Y. Hilton

The Jags might have a hard time stopping the run, but their secondary is among the best in the league, thus leaving Hilton as a possible bench player this week if you have better options.

Orleans Darkwa

With all the injuries going on I understand if you gotta start Darkwa, and you probably have confidence after he ran wild for 117 yards on Denver, but trying to replicate that against Seattle does not seem like a reality this week.

Jameis Winston

There’s a chance Winston doesn’t play so if that’s the case Sunday afternoon, excuse this call, but even if he is playing bench him anyways. With an ac joint sprain to his throwing shoulder going up against a top-tier defense is no easy task ¬†and will be a long day for Winston if he’s not fully healthy.

Willie Snead

It’s just not clicking for him this season. I wouldn’t drop him. I’d bench him until I see him do something, but if you have some good options available on the waiver wire, I’m not going to judge you if you gotta drop Snead.
