The Marshall Men’s Basketball team will travel to College Park, Maryland on Sunday to face the #4 team in the nation. The tip-off is set for 4 p.m. and should be aired on the Big Ten Network.

Since starting the season off at 0-6, the Herd have won 4 of their last 6 games. Their only losses during that span were to nationally ranked WVU and in the Global Classic Championship to Grand Canyon (11-2).

Over the first six games, Marshall averaged under 70 points per game and just 37% shooting from the field. Since then, the Herd have improved to 84 points per game and 47% from the field.

Led by James Kelly, averaging 17 points and 9 rebounds for the Herd, Marshall will look to pull off a huge upset against the Terps. Kelly scored 38 points against Wyoming in Vegas a week ago.

Scouting the #4 Terps:

Maryland comes into this game 10-1, with their only loss coming to North Carolina by 8.

The Terps are the only team in the Big Ten that have five players averaging double-digits in scoring. Melo Trimble leads the way with 15, followed by Robert Carter (12.5), Jake Layman (11.3), Diamond Stone (10.7), and Rasheed Sulaimon (10.5).

Maryland is third in the nation in field goal percentage, coming in at a whopping 53.5% through the first 11 games. They have hit the 50% mark in seven of their past eight games.

Melo Trimble not only leads the team in points per game, but assists per game too. Through the first 11 games, he has accounted for 63 assists. Trimble recorded double-digit assists against North Carolina and Princeton.

The Terps last game was on December 19th against Princeton. They won easy, 82-61.

Maryland has won 20 straight games at home. (Oh man)
