Martellus Bennett

While the full contract details haven’t been publicly announced just yet, Martellus Bennett has announced that he’s leaving the New England Patriots and heading to Green Bay. So Martellus is going from catching passes from a future first ballot hall of famer in Tom Brady to catching passes in the 2017-18 season from another future hall of famer in Aaron Rodgers.

If anything the Green Bay Packers could use a big body like Bennett to help block and protect Aaron Rodgers, and when needed there’s no doubt that Bennett is no stranger to the end zone, and can come up big when needed. Just look at the all the times he needed to fill in some big shoes in New England when Gronk wasn’t available. Bennett finished the 2016 season catching 55 passes for 701 yards, and 7 touchdowns. Not bad for a guy playing second fiddle to Gronk.

UPDATE: Martellus Bennett ultimately got a three-year deal worth $18.45 million from the Packers.
