Marvel Produced Spiderman
Thank goodness our boy, Spiderman, is finally back for Civil War.
Some might say its his Homecoming…
Last night Tom Holland confirmed our suspicions about the solo MCU Movie at the CinemaCon event, after walking the red carpet he flew to the event.
Tom Rothman spoke at the event, “Homecoming obviously is a high school reference. This movie shows the enduring conflicts at Peter Parker’s roots, saving the world and getting your algebra homework done on time,” he went on to talk about how the title was a double entendre, referencing Spiderman homecoming to Marvel.
A main concern for fans is how the film will actually come out, “We’re working very much [together]. It is a— I don’t know exactly what the credits will be, but it is a Sony Pictures production of a Marvel Studios film.” Feige said, which is a bittersweet victory for Marvel fans, we get Peter in the MCU, but Marvel won’t be taking the full helm. However he later said, that they (Marvel), was hiring the actors, writing the script, and shooting the movie.
Something that’s very important to me, in terms of multiple reboots, is not rehashing the base story given that we’ve heard it more than twice in the past 20 years, but it doesn’t look like that will be the case. “There are events that made Peter who he was, and we’ll certainly allude to those events, but we’re much more focused on his future and how he continues to grow” Feige said when questioned about the story.
In conclusion, we will finally have the possibility of a good MCU Spiderman and that makes me, a giant nerd, happy.
