The San Francisco Giants will inter-change solid starting pitchers on their roster, as they place Tim Lincecum on the 15-Day DL for the first time in his career, and recall Matt Cain. Andrew Baggarly of CSNBayArea.com reports that right-hander Matt Cain is scheduled to make his 2015 regular-season debut Thursday afternoon in the Giants’ series finale against the Marlins.

Cain has a career record of 95-95 and is two years removed from his best statistical numbers that saw him go 16-5 with a 2.79 ERA in 2012. The last two seasons combined he accumulated a 10-17 record with a 4.10 ERA, resulting in a stint to the DL last year when he underwent elbow surgery and a right flexor tendon strain to open this season on the DL.

Before you go and add Cain to your fantasy roster make sure you are not getting the Matt Cain that has pitched the last two years. If healthy, Cain is the type of pitcher you would love to own in fantasy leagues, a ground-ball pitcher who averages close to one strikeout per inning.
