mayans mc

If you were a fan of the Kurt Sutter drama series Sons of Anarchy, you are going to want to watch his upcoming spin-off to the series, Mayans MC. Here is what we know so far:

The show will take place in the aftermath of the death of Jax Teller, which was in the final episode of the series that ran for seven seasons. Mayans will focus on the struggles of Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes, played by JD Pardo, who is a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California/Mexico border. Returning for the series is Emilio Rivera who starred as Marcus Alvarez in Sons of Anarchy. Other people who have joined the cast are Clayton Cardenas who will play Angel Reyes, the older brother of EZ, Richard Cabral as Johnny Cruz, Jacqueline Obradors as Marisol Reyes, Antonio Jaramillo as Michael Ariza, Edward James Olmos as Felipe Reyes, Andrea Londo as Carnalita, who watched her family die at the hands of the Galindo cartel as a child, and Sarah Bolger (Into The Badlands) as Emily, the childhood sweetheart of EZ.

I’ve been looking forward to this show since it was just a rumor after Sons of Anarchy ended in 2014. Kurt Sutter is a phenomenal writer. Not only is he responsible for Sons, he was also behind the FX drama The Shield and the film Southpaw starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachael McAdams which were also incredible. Sons has a huge following so I look for this show to be another success for Sutter. He will be serving as executive producer and Elgin James will be writing. No official release date as of yet but it is slated for a 2017 date.
