Maze Runner: The Death Cure Gets a New Release Date
The third and final film in the Maze Runner saga, The Death Cure, has a new release date. After being delayed a year due to a serious on-set stunt accident involving star Dylan O’Brien, the film was given a February 2018 release date. Yesterday, the film’s Facebook page updated its profile picture and cover photo. The caption for the cover photo included a new release date of January 26th. While that’s only two weeks earlier, it’s great news for fans who’ve been waiting for updates.
When the film resumed filming in South Africa this past March, fans were delighted to see the cast back together again. They were also happy to see O’Brien looking well after his accident. On screen, the last we saw of Thomas and his friends in The Scorch Trials, Teresa (played by Kaya Scodelario) had tipped off W.C.K.D. about their location leading to Minho’s capture. The gladder is played by Ki Hong Lee.
Hopefully, we’ll be getting a trailer for The Death Cure soon. Also, be on the look out for The Death Cure Official Graphic Novel Prelude from BOOM! Comics. The graphic novel will be released in comic books stores on November 1st and other bookstores soon after.
The Death Cure is based on the third novel of the Maze Runner series by James Dashner.
