Meet Black Panther in Civil War
Captain America: Civil War premiers this week. It’s the most anticipated film this year after Batman vs Superman. We’re going to meet a character a lot of people are curious about. Black Panther. He actually has a very extensive history in the Marvel universe. However, is a lesser known Hero.
T’Challa was first introduced in Fantastic Four #52 (1966). He’s from an African Kingdom called Wakanda. His father was murdered by Klaw (who becomes his main protagonist). In a fight with Klaw, a young T’Challa shatters the villains right hand chasing him off. He eventually defeats his uncle, the current Black panther, to take his rightful place as the leader of the panther clan. Royalty. During his quest to become noble enough for the role, he’s in a relationship with Ororo Monroe (Storm). They drift apart because becoming the black Panther, as he was the rightful heir, was his main interest. He gained heightened senses and abilities from a heart-shaped herb acquired from his uncle.
Black panther wants peace not only in his kingdom but begins to look beyond and see that super heroes have been doing great things. He brings in the fantastic four as a test and he sees that they can achieve greatness and begins working with them. He then joins forces with the Avengers. However it was originally to spry from within. He works with them and becomes a major ally. During Civil War he’s neutral. We’re seeing however in the movie he’s team Iron Man. I’m not sure what the spin they’re putting on his role is in the film. We did see Klaw in Age of Ultron.. I’m guessing that’s with purpose. Will we see him in Civil War? Black Panther is in and out of the Avengers several times.
In America, he takes on the persona of Luke Charles. A teacher. He becomes engaged to a singer named Monica Lynne. His foes include venom, who becomes an ally, and even the Klu Klux Klan. That’s a major story. Very serious as well. He’s a character I suggest people read. Also Soul Strangler, Moses Magnum.
He has major ties to Matt Murdock. Aka Daredevil. In fact, at one point Daredevil asks T’Challa to replace him in Hell’s Kitchen. He
Does and he becomes Mr. Okonkwo. He has many periods of stepping down and redemption. After a brain aneurysm, he believes himself too weak and gives into his mental status. He comes back from it too and eventually marries Storm. He’s involved in the Avengers vs X-men and many other major stories. It was announced he’s getting his own solo film in 2017. He’s a brilliant addition to the Marvel Entertainment Universe.
