Memorabilia Break Spotlight: Red’s Box and Memorabilia Breaks
As we continue our exploration into different groups that are out there to provide you with incredible, autographed memorabilia from your favorite athletes, we introduce you to Red’s Box and Memorabilia Breaks.
Red’s is run by Danny Hern out of Utah.
The breaks on this page are run a little differently. Instead of breaks happening as they fill, breaks are scheduled every Thursday night. Some of the breaks fill throughout the week, but the majority of the action takes place during the break.
The breaks are run off of the Red’s YouTube page. A lot of the items that are opened are done via live fill. It creates a unique environment, to say the least.
Live fills allow you to see a whole different side of breaks. You have to either be in or out. The decision can’t always be pondered, because the spots could fill while you are debating. You see participants ride their hot streaks or try to break their cold streaks from break to break. I would venture to compare it to being on the stock exchange floor!
How Did The Group Start:
“Me and one of my best friends that would get into breaks with me would talk about doing our own break every once in a while. My wife is a nurse and I was a sales manager until April of last year. At that point when we decided I would stay home with the kids because it was a shi*-show trying to keep up with all their sports and traveling teams. After about 2 months of being home, I got bored and really pushed the idea at my friend. We started with $700 that we bought 2 helmets with. The whole reason for starting the group was because I knew how awesome it felt to receive my winnings in the mail (as a customer) and I thought it would be cool to be a part of that feeling for other people. Plus I wanted to be able to see what the helmet was before anyone else!”
“The group goal is to have fun! To really create the best overall experience in the game. Whether it’s getting girls to break the boxes or giving away a Tom Brady Speed Authentic helmet as customer appreciation. I’m always looking for ways to make the group more fun and exciting.”
“My biggest advice to new members is to start slow until you fully understand the ins and outs of the break process. The main thing as a collector in this is to have fun. If you’re spending money and are confused as to why you didn’t win… it’s not fun. In most cases, it doesn’t take long to catch on. Sitting through a couple breaks should be enough.”
Dwyane Wade jersey, Magic Johnson jersey, Carson Wentz chrome, Adrian Peterson chrome, Ezekiel Elliott blaze, and so many more!
The thing that I have seen in breaks, is the amount of support/friendship that is shown between members. So what does it look like from the perspective of the breaker? “The coolest part about the breaking community is the camaraderie between everyone involved. Nobody really hates on anyone and they’re quick to congratulate one another on a sweet hit. It’s like being accepted into this secret club that the majority of people don’t even know exists. It’s a “brotherhood” commonly united by our love and passion for sports!”
Red’s Box and Memorabilia Breaks provide some amazing pieces of memorabilia for extremely reasonable prices. Full-size helmets can be bought into for as little as $15. Each break also features a chance to get into a Golden Ticket razz. This allows the person to get a free jersey framing.
Stay tuned next week as we introduce you to another great group that brings awesome memorabilia!
