MFST’s Week 12 NFL Picks
After a stretch of brilliance from our pickers, the last two weeks have knocked them down with Week 11 delivering a gut punch as two of our pickers–including the self-proclaimed #TopDog, Brandon Reid–have losing weeks (5-8 record). Dan Schalk squeaked out the only positive record this week at 7-6. Despite his atrocious week, Brandon is still in the lead as we head into Turkey Day.
Current Standings after Week 11
Brandon Reid: 104-55-2
Dan Schalk: 98-61-2
Orlando Torres: 94-65-2
Week 12 NFL Picks
Giants at Eagles
Dan Schalk: Philadelphia Eagles. What Brandon said.
Brandon Reid: Philadelphia Eagles. You get one more shot from me Philly. Don’t blow it.
Orlando Torres: New York Giants. Will this finally be a game that Philly can finally win? Yes, but I don’t think that they’ll pull it off. Their defense is depleted, and I like Odell and Barkley to exploit that weakness.
Jaguars at Bills
Dan Schalk: Jacksonville Jaguars. Doug Marrone owns the Bills.
Brandon Reid: Jacksonville Jaguars. I hate picking the Jags but they finally played well in a loss last week. I still think they are better than the Bills.
Orlando Torres: Jacksonville Jaguars. Could this be a trap game for the Jags? Possibly, but as horrendous as the Jags have been this season, I still wouldn’t pick Buffalo over them.
Seahawks at Panthers
Dan Schalk: Carolina Panthers. I don’t think Seattle is a good football team, especially on the road.
Brandon Reid: Carolina Panthers. This is one of those toss-up games I’m going to play conservative and pick them home team.
Orlando Torres: Carolina Panthers. Since both Newton and Wilson have been in the NFL, each time these two teams meet they give us a great match up. I don’t expect any different this time around, but I’m sticking with the home team here. I think Carolina bounces back after the past two weeks.
Raiders at Ravens
Dan Schalk: Baltimore Ravens. Not against this defense Oakland.
Brandon Reid: Baltimore Ravens. The Raiders may have got their last win of the season last week.
Orlando Torres: Baltimore Ravens. Oakland finally won a game which means, that they could go back to tanking.
49ers at Buccaneers
Dan Schalk: Tampa Bay Buccaneers. What Brandon said.
Brandon Reid: Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I think the Bucs will just outscore the Niners.
Orlando Torres: San Francisco 49ers. This feels like a game that Tampa Bay should be able to win, but they have too many issues at quarterback right now. Winston might not even finish the game as the starter, who knows? Either way, I like Mullins bouncing back in this game. The 49ers have some good playmakers right now in Kittle and Breida.
Browns at Bengals
Dan Schalk: Cincinnati Bengals. Bengals at home, despite a solid fantasy performance from Nick Chubb.
Brandon Reid: Cincinnati Bengals. Cincy may be getting A.J Green back. Regardless, they should be able to put away the Browns.
Orlando Torres: Cleveland Browns. Nick Chubb will run wild again!!! The Bengals are a disappointment. It never fails. They just can’t balance out their football team right now, on offense and defense.
Patriots at Jets
Dan Schalk: New England Patriots. I’ve realized, I just don’t pick the Patriots to lose.
Brandon Reid: New England Patriots. The Patriots are not the Patriots of old, but the Jets are the Jets of old.
Orlando Torres: New England Patriots. All that trash talking that people were starting up about Tom Brady and the Pats will be put to rest. The bye came at a perfect time for them. This is when the Pats start to kick it up a notch.
Cardinals at Chargers
Dan Schalk: Los Angeles Chargers. Chargers bounce-back with an impressive performance.
Brandon Reid: Los Angeles Chargers. This shouldn’t be close.
Orlando Torres: Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers lost a close divisional game, it happens. At the end of the day this Chargers team has a lot going for them.
Steelers at Broncos
Dan Schalk: Pittsburgh Steelers. Big Ben sucks on the road, but somehow I’m still picking the Steelers.
Brandon Reid: Pittsburgh Steelers. This could be a tight game, but Pittsburgh is the better team.
Orlando Torres: Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers look a little banged up right now, and just like last week on the road, this will be another close and gritty game. I wouldn’t be surprised if Denver shocks Pittsburgh, but I think the Steelers do just enough to get away with a win.
Dolphins at Colts
Dan Schalk: Indianapolis Colts. Tannehill coming back is tempting, but I like the Colts at home.
Brandon Reid: Indianapolis Colts. I’m starting to turn on the Colts. Luck is playing well and the Dolphins have lost five of their last seven.
Orlando Torres: Indianapolis Colts. Andrew Luck is back baby! After the Titans terrorized the Cowboys and Patriots, the Colts brought them back to reality. The Dolphins won’t be able to shake this Colts team either.
Packers at Vikings
Dan Schalk: Green Bay Packers. Sometimes, you just need some dairy in your life.
Brandon Reid: Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings defense should disrupt Rodgers enough to win this one.
Orlando Torres: Minnesota Vikings. This is not an easy game to predict. Both teams have been horrible this season. McCarthy is likely gone after the season, and we’re all wondering why Kirk Cousins was given $84 million dollars again. This is a toss-up.
Titans at Texans
Dan Schalk: Houston Texans. They are the better team.
Brandon Reid: Houston Texans. The Titans are up and down and the Texans are rolling. This is just the kind of game the Titans win, but I’m playing it safe.
Orlando Torres: Houston Texans. OK, I need to stop picking against Houston. I know they’re good, but I didn’t think they would be able to go on this impressive streak. And with Mariota hurting with a banged up hand, there’s no way they’ll be able to stop Houston here.
