Orlando Torres: 55-36-2
Dan Schalk: 50-41-2
Week 7 Picks
All of the guys did outstanding this past week as they all went 12-3. Orlando has been on a tear the last two weeks and Dan has fell further back in the standings, but he did get hitched this week, so ultimately his pick was right. Congrats to our Editor-in-Chief on his recent marriage. Here are the guys Week 7 picks…
Titans vs. Chargers (London)
Dan Schalk: Los Angeles Chargers. I have more confidence in Philip Rivers and company to move the ball than Mariota and his “weapons”.
Brandon Reid: Los Angeles Chargers. I don’t like this matchup for several reasons if I’m the Titans. It’s in London (by the way, I hate London games and think it is ridiculous), The Titans offense stinks, and the Chargers defense is as formidable as the Titans. Chargers should have no trouble.
Orlando Torres: Los Angeles Chargers. The Titans have been terrible these past few weeks, and they won’t have an answer across the pond either for Melvin Gordon.
Patriots at Bears
Dan Schalk: New England Patriots. I’m surprised how many people think the Bears are the class of the NFC North. Sure they have a solid defense, but it’s not one of the greatest of all-time. Watch as Tom Brady puts up 30.
Brandon Reid: Chicago Bears. The Bears have the 2nd best scoring D in the league. Mack is a wrecking crew. The game is at Soldier Field. Brady will have a rough day. Hope he survives.
Orlando Torres: New England Patriots. Sony Michel baby!!!
Bills at Colts
Dan Schalk: Indianapolis Colts. The Bills are a mess and their fans are oblivious to the terrible moves the front office made in the offseason. Case in point, trading away AJ McCarron for a 5th round pick.
Brandon Reid: Indianapolis Colts. The Bills up and down season just got more consistent. Consistently down. I thought Derek Anderson was drafted with Peyton Manning.
Orlando Torres: Indianapolis Colts. Finally my boy Andrew Luck will be back on track. I’ll give credit to the Bills defense. They’ve been playing good, but Anderson at QB? No thanks!
Lions at Dolphins
Dan Schalk: Detroit Lions. I don’t see Brock Osweiler having two good games in a row.
Brandon Reid: Miami Dolphins. As much as I think Miami was the most overrated team to start the season, I think they are good enough to win this home game. The Lions have been very uninspiring this year and I don’t trust them to win many road games. They’ve lost both their road games so far this year.
Orlando Torres: Detroit Lions. Osweiller is in again at QB, but this Lions team will win a tough road game in South Beach.
Vikings at Jets
Dan Schalk: Minnesota Vikings. This is the Minnesota team we expected.
Brandon Reid: Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are finally starting to click after that embarrassing defeat to the Bills. The lack of big play offense will cost the Jets any chance to win this one.
Orlando Torres: Minnesota Vikings. Darnold has been impressive at times, but the Vikings defense will just be too much.
Panthers at Eagles
Dan Schalk: Philadelphia Eagles. I hope Philadelphia loses, I just don’t see it happening.
Brandon Reid: Carolina Panthers. Something tells me Philly is not back on track yet. A win over the lowly Giants doesn’t prove anything to me. The Panthers bring a solid defense, strong run game, and Superman QB into this contest. Carolina grinds it out.
Orlando Torres: Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are back on track after that dominant win against the Giants. The Panthers definitely have a chance here, but back to back road games is tough.
Browns at Bucs
Dan Schalk: Cleveland Browns. Coin flip game, I think Cleveland will rebound after a loss.
Brandon Reid: Tampa Bay Bucs. Too many weapons for the home team for Cleveland to out shoot famous Jameis. Might be close, but it’s still hard for me to pick the Browns to win road games.
Orlando Torres: Tampa Bay Bucs. Tampa got a new defensive coordinator so it’s going to be interesting how they game plan for Mayfield. This should be a close game, but the Bucs will close it out at home.
Texans at Jaguars
Dan Schalk: Houston Texans. Did you see Jacksonville play Dallas last week?
Brandon Reid: Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags are going to eventually get it together. This team is still very capable of winning the AFC. But they’re going to have to get Fournette back healthy, and find an identity on offense. And the defense needs to kick it up a gear. Jacksonville is the better team. Plain and simple.
Orlando Torres: Jacksonville Jaguars. After the beaten the Jags took on the road to the Cowboys look for them to bounce back in a dominant win at home.
Saints at Ravens
Dan Schalk: New Orleans Saints. Their offense will be too much.
Brandon Reid: Baltimore Ravens. This Ravens defense will smack in you the face. And they have a good mix of offensive weapons to hit you with. The Saints are not the Saints when on the road. Baltimore wins easily.
Orlando Torres: Baltimore Ravens. Last time we saw the Saints Drew Brees was breaking records and they blew out the skins. This time around I think the Ravens will hold their own at home in a close game.
Rams at 49ers
Dan Schalk: Los Angeles Rams. Alright I’m sold, Rams are the favorite for the Super Bowl.
Brandon Reid: Los Angeles Rams. I give the 49ers credit for being resilient. But the Rams are the NFL’s best team right now.
Orlando Torres: Los Angeles Rams. After that heartbreaking loss on Monday night, this Sunday won’t be the right time for a bounce back.
Cowboys at Redskins
Dan Schalk: Dallas Cowboys. Finally the Cowboys have a legitimate Top 5 defense. Can the offense repeat their performance from last week is the question.
Brandon Reid: Washington Redskins. The Jags are going through some things right now. Don’t let last week convince you that the Cowboys are surging upwards. That is far from the truth. Jason Garrett is what he is, and Dak Prescott is what he is. With those two, this Cowboys team will always be inconsistent. The Tennessee Titans of the NFC, if you will. Tough division road game. I got the home team.
Orlando Torres: Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys have been a different team on the road, especially Dak. Washington also has their share on woes all over the place.
Bengals at Chiefs
Dan Schalk: Kansas City Chiefs. Shootout game, but I think Andy Reid finally realizes he needs to give Kareem Hunt the ball 20+ times a game.
Brandon Reid: Kansas City Chiefs. There is only two games the Chiefs have a chance to lose at home the rest of the year, this isn’t one of them.
Orlando Torres: Kansas City Chiefs. I like this Bengals offense a lot, but they have too many issues on defense to stop Mahomes and the Chiefs.
Giants at Falcons
Dan Schalk: Atlanta falcons. Ito Smith is the best back on the Falcons roster, even when Freeman is healthy.
Brandon Reid: Atlanta Falcons. I looked at the Giants schedule. I’m not picking them to win another game all year. Maybe against the 49ers next week, maybe against the Colts down the road. That’s the only possibilities for wins I see for them the rest of the year.
Orlando Torres: Atlanta Falcons. I really want to pick the Giants here, but they’ve let me down each time I’ve picked them.
