MFST’s Week 8 NFL Picks
Standings after TNF Week 8
Brandon Reid: 69-36-2
Orlando Torres: 64-41-2
Dan Schalk: 61-44-2
The guys had another strong week last week as they all went 10-4. They are accepting donations from the money they are winning you. Here are the guys Week 8 picks…
Week 8 Picks
Eagles vs. Jaguars (London)
Dan Schalk: Philadelphia Eagles. The Jags are a mess, more so than the Eagles who will eventually figure it out and take the NFC East.
Brandon Reid: Philadelphia Eagles. How fitting that these two teams that should have been Super Bowl contenders, but are heading the wrong way, are meeting up in London where no one will be watching. Philly is playing a little better so that’s my pick. But I’m using this time as more of a PSA to the NFL… STOP PLAYING THESE RIDICULOUS LONDON GAMES!!!! It will never be feasible to have a team overseas, and you’re giving them a random football game that means nothing. Their should be NO neutral field games in the NFL schedule. Period!
Orlando Torres: Philadelphia Eagles. Man what happened to Jacksonville? Until Blake Bortles and that defense show me something, it’s going to be hard picking them.
Jets at Bears
Dan Schalk: Chicago Bears. I’m not sold on Chicago being anything more than an 8-8 team, but they’ll get the win this week.
Brandon Reid: Chicago Bears. Trubisky is better, and further along than Sam Darnold. The Bears defense is better than the Jets. The Bears are at home. I think Bears win.
Orlando Torres: Chicago Bears. Both teams are now building around their QB’s of the future. Darnold has had some highlight reel plays this season, but the Trubisky is on another level right now.
Bucs at Bengals
Dan Schalk: Cincinnati Bengals. After a clobbering on SNF, I believe the Bengals will bounce back this weekend.
Brandon Reid: Cincinnati Bengals. The Bucs lack of a run game concerns me. Cincy is the more complete team, although I think Famous Jameis will have a good game and so will Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson.
Orlando Torres: Cincinnati Bengals. After that sparking Cincy took on National tv, look for them to bounce back in a close game with the Bucs.
Seahawks at Lions
Dan Schalk: Seattle Seahawks. This is a lock if you take the +3 but I believe Seattle will win the game outright.
Brandon Reid: Detroit Lions. I think this is one of those instances where Seattle is the better team, but drop a tough NFL road game. It happens.
Orlando Torres: Detroit Lions. This is going to be a tough road game for Seattle. They’re fresh off a bye, but idk if they’re equipped to beat this Lions team.
Broncos at Chiefs
Dan Schalk: Kansas City Chiefs. I’ve said it the last two weeks. Andy Reid is making Kareem Hunt a major part of the gameplan, and that is the main reason for their success.
Brandon Reid: Kansas City Chiefs. There are not many instances this year I’m going to pick against the most dynamic offense in football.
Orlando Torres: Kansas City Chiefs. This is your world Mahomes and we’re all living in it.
Redskins at Giants
Dan Schalk: New York Giants. Mediocrity is the NFC East. Washington are wannabes and while the Giants aren’t very good, they take this one at home.
Brandon Reid: Washington Redskins. I am not picking the Giants to beat anyone this year. The offensive line is deplorable and Eli doesn’t handle it well.
Orlando Torres: New York Giants. Divisional games are always tough and fun to watch. The Giants sucks horribly, but I’m going with the Giants to win game 2 of the season.
Browns at Steelers
Dan Schalk: Pittsburgh Steelers. This won’t be a close football game like it was in their first matchup where the teams tied. Baker Mayfield looks like Tyrod Taylor out there.
Brandon Reid: Pittsburgh Steelers. You had your chance Browns, now the Steelers are going to make you pay for that tie on their record.
Orlando Torres: Pittsburgh Steelers. The last time these two teams played Cleveland almost pulled the upset. Instead they tied. This time the Browns are on the road and the Steelers got better.
Ravens at Panthers
Dan Schalk: Carolina Panthers. Not a huge fan of the Panthers but they keep pulling out tight wins. At home, I’ll side with Carolina.
Brandon Reid: Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens ground attack is versatile, and I like the wrinkle of adding in plays for Lamar Jackson. Baltimore is the 6th ranked offense in the league. Carolina won’t have an answer.
Orlando Torres: Carolina Panthers. The Ravens lost a heartbreaker at home, and the Panthers stringed together some long drives in their comeback win against Philly. This will be another close game, but Cam will lead the way.
Colts at Raiders
Dan Schalk: Indianapolis Colts. Thanks a lot Jon Gruden for hosing my Cowboys for Amari Cooper, who has led the league in drop rate three out of the last four years. I hope you lose.
Brandon Reid: Indianapolis Colts. The Raiders are in in full tank mode, or empty tank mode. lol Hello Vegas!
Orlando Torres: Indianapolis Colts. The Raiders are tanking and basically attempting to stack up all 32 of the first round picks next season.
Packers at Rams
Dan Schalk: Los Angeles Rams. I don’t see Green Bay slowing down this offense.
Brandon Reid: Los Angeles Rams. Aaron Donald will meet Aaron Rodgers a few times in this game. The Packers line is not very good. Rams roll on.
Orlando Torres: Green Bay Packers. This is a tough game to predict. Goff might not play and Cooks is still banged up. I don’t know if the Packers defense is good enough to pressure Goff, but I have the Aaron Rodgers putting together one of his class drives in the end for the win.
49ers at Cardinals
Dan Schalk: Arizona Cardinals. A battle of two cellar dwellers in the NFC. David Johnson will be the difference maker with a new offensive coordinator.
Brandon Reid: San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers have better players, and more heart. They are gritty. The Cardinals are the worst team in football.
Orlando Torres: San Francisco 49ers. Two sinking ships going at it here. Arizona is sinking faster though.
Saints at Vikings
Dan Schalk: Minnesota Vikings. They are getting hot, watch out NFC.
Brandon Reid: New Orleans Saints. I am predicting an upset. I think Brees and company will figure out the up and down defense of the Vikings. In doors is always nice for Drew Brees.
Orlando Torres: Minnesota Vikings. Last time we saw these two teams play it was in a thriller! In a game now labeled as the “Minnesota Miracle” we get round 2 here. There may not be another Miracle play at the end here, but I’ve got Minnesota winning. #SKOL
Patriots at Bills
Dan Schalk: New England Patriots. A Monday night massacre is in store for Western New York.
Brandon Reid: New England Patriots. I’m not huge on New England this year, but c’mon.
Orlando Torres: New England Patriots. Well is you haven’t noticed how horrible the Bills are this season, you’ll know on Monday when the Pats put a beat down on them on national tv.
