After hitting his 400th home run, Miguel Cabrera is well on his way to becoming one of the best all around batters in baseball history. In three of the last four seasons he has won a batting title and twice in his career he led the AL in home runs. He even has a legendary triple crown to his name, the first in 45 years, and a feat that many people believed impossible, given the current state of the game. With specialized pitching and increased competition levels, it seemed the possibility of any player dominating all three major batting categories was a thing of the past. Not for Miguel Cabrera.

In a time when MLB’s offensive numbers are down, Cabrera is thriving. The post steroid era has seen home runs and overall run production decline sharply, circumstances of which have merely helped cementing Cabrera as perhaps the best all around batter of a generation.

At 32 years of age, he certainly isn’t old; still in the prime years of his career, it’s possible Cabrera might have a shot at 600 career home runs. Almost certainly he will surpass 3,000 hits, needing only a little more than 750 to reach the milestone.

In an age where offense is down and pitching is overwhelming, Miguel Cabrera has still continued to dominate. He is durable, having missed no more than 14 games in a single season during his career. He hits for average and power, and his career averages of .320 Avg, 35 home runs and 122 RBI, throughout a 162 game season, are historic figures to consider. Surely, Miguel Cabrera is one of the greatest batters of all-time.
