Kevin Doyle has reached a 2.5-year deal to join the Colorado Rapids on a free transfer during this summer’s transfer window as a designated player. The 31-year-old Republic of Ireland international of Wolverhampton Wanderers had been in talks with the Rapids since early February. The striker will have his work cut out for him when he looks to bolster a side that has already shown signs of finishing near the bottom of the conference again this season. I don’t think this is a bad signing, he wants to join the club and the club wants him. Sadly, this organization is going to have to make some more moves during the next window if they want to improve their current form.

The Rafael van der Vaart to Sporting Kansas City rumors will not go away. While nothing official is announced on signings, team sources have gone on record saying that they have remained in contact with van der Vaart over the past few weeks. If this deal is going to happen it will be during the summer transfer window.

The Chicago Fire have signed second round draft pick Kingsley Bryce. Bryce appeared in five preseason matches for the Fire and coach Frank Yallop is very keen on him and his development. He has yet to make a game day roster and I don’t see him doing so in the near future but he will factor in to the Fire’s playoff hopes later in the season of he improves.

The Portland Timbers have reportedly brought in forward Ishmael Yartay of Ghana on loan with an option to buy from Sochaux-Montbéliard. It is unclear when he will join the team.
