Montee Ball’s NFL career may be over
Montee Ball, the former Wisconsin Badgers and Denver Broncos running back was arrested in Madison, Wisc., around 3:45 a.m. on February 5th, and charged with battery, according to a PIO with the Madison PD.
Montee Ball, 25, was taken to the Dane County Jail on a tentative charge of substantial battery. According to Madison.com,
“The woman told police she had a dispute with her boyfriend,” said police spokesman Joel DeSpain. “She said he put his hands on her, picked her up and threw her.” She told police she hit a table, resulting in a cut to her leg, which needed stitches.
Ball, who was supposed to be the bell-cow back for the Denver Broncos when they drafted him in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, was never able to live up to those expectations. He rushed for more than 5,000 yards and 77 touchdowns at the University of Wisconsin, was a consensus All-American in 2011 and 2012 and is the program’s No. 2 all-time leading rusher and set an NCAA record for touchdowns.
With these pending charges, it is likely Montee Ball will never get another chance in the NFL again. MFST will keep you up-to-date as we continue to receive information.
