My Fantasy Pick’em: Thursday Night Picks [Saints at Panthers]
Welcome to our weekly My Fantasy Pick’em where Dan Schalk, Brandon Reid and Orlando Torres pick all of the NFL games straight up. At the end of the season we will crown one champion of all champions. You can check all three out on the My Fantasy Podcast airing weekly here on My Fantasy Sports Talk.
Week 10 saw only one of our ‘pickers’ escape with a winning record. Brandon had the best week going 8-6 gaining even more ground on Dan who had a 6-8 week. Orlando brings up the rear, mustering only four wins last week. Here are the current standing through ten weeks of the NFL season and we have a showdown on our hands.
Dan Schalk: 84-60-2
Brandon Reid: 83-61-2
Orlando Torres: 77-67-2
Thursday Night Picks
Saints (4-5) at Panthers (3-6)
Dan Schalk: Carolina Panthers. The Panthers playoff hopes took a hit last week as the Chiefs mounted an improbable comeback. I can see the Panthers as a team going two ways. One way is them giving up completely and losing most of their games to finish the season. The other way has them showing heart, not giving up and making a run. While I don’t think a ‘run’ is in their future, they sneak away with a victory at home against the Saints.
Brandon Reid: Carolina Panthers. I’m only picking Carolina for two reasons, I predicted New Orleans would be at the bottom of the NFC South this year, and this game is in Carolina. New Orleans is a different team at home than they are on the road. But those two reasons aside, I really think New Orleans could and should win this game. Their offense has really looked good this year, including last week against the Broncos D. The Saints offense is number one is passing, and number two in points scored. This should be a great game.
Orlando Torres: Carolina Panthers. As good as Carolina’s defense has been after their bye, more than likely they will struggle Thursday night. Both teams have high-powered offenses, but the Saints defense has struggled more than Carolina’s. Panthers getting the win starts with Cam Newton and expect him to bounce back after a disappointing loss on Sunday.
