NBA Playoff Predictions

We are through one round of the NBA Playoffs and our staff is back to make their Round 2 predictions…

No.1 Warriors vs No.5 Jazz

Brandon Reid: Warriors in 5

The Jazz struggled to put away a Clippers team that was missing Blake Griffin though five games of the series. Kevin Durant is only resting for the stretch run. The Warriors can beat the Jazz without him if need be. Playing to Rudy Gobert’s strengths will get you ran off the floor against the Warriors. This series will provide little test to the Warriors.

Dan Schalk: Warriors in 6

I want the Jazz to win, but the Dubs have too much firepower on offense.

Dillon Davis-Tirado: Warriors in 5

Great series win for Utah over LAC but the Warriors are too much to handle with or without Durant.

Malachi David: Warriors in 5

The Warriors are coming off of a sweep while the Jazz played a 7-game series. This swings the series in the Warriors favor. They win it in 5.

Michael Gomez: Warriors in 7

Utah plays incredible defense and will make the Warriors work. This is going to be a great series.

Orlando Torres: Warriors in 6

This isn’t going to be a cake walk like the way most people see it as. The Jazz are not going to back down when it comes to punching Golden State right back in the mouth. Even with a healthy Kevin Durant which they currently don’t have I’ll give the Warriors the edge in 6, but they will be tested.

No.2 Spurs vs No.3 Rockets

Brandon Reid: Spurs in 6

We can finally put to rest how much James Harden “wins”. This was always going to be where their season ends. The second round. The Spurs are light years better than the Thunder. Now you will see why I have been saying the Rockets style will not win in the playoffs. Kawhi will match Harden blow-for-blow and the Spurs defense will not let the outside shooters of the Rockets to win games. Since the Grizzlies did steal two from the Spurs, I think the Rockets can too. Maybe. San Antonio won the season series 3-1. The Rockets one win was by two points.

Dan Schalk: Rockets in 6

The only Spur not addicted to Matlock reruns is Kawhi Leonard. The rest have a bedtime and drink a warm glass of milk right beforehand. Age catches up to the Spurs as they face a fast-paced up-and-down the court team in the Rockets.

Dillon Davis-Tirado: Spurs in 7

The battle of potential MVP’s and excellent shooters, it’s going to be a contest of offense over defense.

Malachi David: Spurs in 6

This is going to be a good series, but experience is going to outweigh flash in this matchup.

Michael Gomez: Spurs in 6

The Rockets are dangerous offensively but the increased physicality of the playoffs has given them some problems. The Spurs have more players that can beat them then just Russell Westbrook, so an type of double teaming will result in an onslaught of easy points.

Orlando Torres: Spurs in 6

The majority of the whole state of Texas is split on this. Houston could get hot in an instant but had trouble shooting the ball well against an OKC team who’s only main threat is Russell Westbrook. Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs are a different animal, and it isn’t only Kawhi that the Rockets have to worry about. Spurs in 6.
