NBA Preview and Predictions 10/29
Grizzlies vs. Pacers
The Grizzlies head into Indiana tonight hoping to recover from the beating they were handed at the hands of the Cavaliers last night.
The Grizzlies stumbled out of the gates last night and put up a measly 76 points on their home court. Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol were the only players to score in double digits (12 points each). They will look to forget that performance rather quickly. The entire team is going to need to play better if they want to get a road win tonight.
The Pacers also dropped their season opener last night to the Raptors. They seemed to have the game in decent control until a late run. They got double digit scoring from five of their ten players, and Paul George was two assists away from a triple-double. If they can get even more production out of Monta Ellis they should have a leg up tonight.
My Prediction: The Grizzlies will struggle once again tonight to find continuity among the offense. That point, coupled with the shooting ability that Indiana can bring will doom the defense. Indiana gives their fans a win in the home opener.

Mavericks vs. Clippers
The matchup that has become a big deal through the soap opera offseason fight over DeAndre Jordan. The only way this game gets better is if it were in Dallas.
The Mavericks are coming off of a surprisingly big victory over the Suns in Phoenix. They had double digit scoring from eight different players and a shooting percentage just over 47%. The best part for the Mavericks is that a lot of their players didn’t play as well as they are capable of. If Wesley Matthews can up his game a little bit, there is no reason Dallas can’t start out with two road wins.
The Clippers had 10 players take the court last night, and half of them came up with 11 or more points. That includes Blake Griffin’s 33 points on 14 of 20 shooting. Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan did their part as well, Paul scored 18 and had 11 assists. While Jordan scored eight and grabbed 12 rebounds. With those guys playing like that on opening night, it may be tough for teams to control Lob City.
My Prediction: As well rounded as the Mavericks played last night, that is not going to help them tonight. They will have no answer for the Griffin and Jordan down low. If the Mavericks shift their attention too much, then CP3 and Reddick will torch them up top. It’s a lose-lose for Dallas.
