NBA Preview and Predictions 11/10
NBA Preview and Predictions
Jazz vs. Cavaliers
Utah comes into tonight with a 4-2 record, and a two game winning streak. They put that up against the top team in the East. The Cavs are 6-1 even with their list of injuries.
The Jazz have an impressive record, but against a not so impressive schedule thus far. Tonight is their biggest game of the season. The Jazz have the number one defense in terms of points allowed per game, however they are also 27th in the league in points scored. They have five players averaging over 11 points per game, but they will need their players to step up to another level if they want to have a chance tonight. The Jazz have yet to score over 100 points through six games, whereas the Cavaliers have scored over 100 points in five of their seven games.
The Cavaliers so far have the 4th ranked defense in terms of points per game, and the 3rd greatest point differential per game at +9.2. They have only allowed over 100 points to an opponent twice. This bodes well for them against the low scoring Jazz. The James-Love combo has emerged as a potent threat to opponents. They are combining for 41 points and 19 rebounds.
My Prediction: The Cavaliers are going to be too much offensively and defensively for the Jazz to handle. Kevin Love and LeBron will put up over 50 combined points tonight.
Cavaliers 112- Jazz 88
Thunder vs. Wizards
The Thunder visit the Wizards in a return to KD’s hometown. Not only will there be a game to watch, but also a lot of campaigning for a homecoming this offseason for the star.
The Thunder are the second highest scoring offense in the league at just over 113 points per game. They have two of the top six scorers in the league. Durant is at 30 points a game, and Westbrook at 26 points and just under 11 assists per game. They look to take the juggernaut offense to victory against the 26th ranked defense.
The Wizards look to snap a two game losing streak against the Thunder. The Wizards are struggling against opponents this year, despite a 3-3 record, their wins have only been by a combined 9 points. Their three losses have been by 42 points. This doesn’t bode well for a team going up against one of the best offenses in the league.
My Prediction: The Wizards will not be able to withstand the onslaught that is the Thunder offense, and will lose a home game, and probably the eventual fight for KD.
