NBA Rumors and Done Deals
With the NBA Draft just hours away, teams are already wheeling and dealing, looking for ways to improve and fill needs in their roster. Here are some NBA rumors and done deals:
Thaddeus Young gets shipped to Indiana
The Brooklyn Nets who have been desperately seeking to move into this year’s first round of the NBA Draft was able to do just that, after swinging a deal with the Indiana Pacers. The Nets have sent PF Thaddeus Young to the Pacers in exchange for their 20th pick and a future second rounder.
Young averaged 15.1 points and 9 rebounds for the disappointing Nets. Young shot 51.4% from the field, but saw his 3PT shooting regress after making 38% a year ago, to making 23.3% from deep in the 2015-16 season.
Young who is in the prime of his career, and is just 28 years old and would fit nicely alongside Paul George, Myles Turner and recently acquired Jeff Teague. Making the Pacers early favorite winners in the offseason, swinging two deals in order to improve their roster and become contenders in the Eastern Conference.
76ers Increasing offer for Celtics No. 3 Pick
Rumors have reported that the 76ers have amped up their trade offer and could they package both Noel and Okafor in order to land the third overall pick? The Celtics seem to not be interested, in hopes in landing a veteran star rather than seeking another young piece, to an already young team.
Suns Shopping Knight, Bledsoe?
The Suns have reportedly offered Eric Bledsoe and a lottery pick to the Jazz for SF Gordon Hayward. The Jazz have rejected the offer, and may not find Bledsoe a fit after acquiring George Hill from the Pacers.
The Phoenix Suns seem to be at it again, and looking to unload one of their guards Brandon Knight or Eric Bledsoe. Knight, just 24 years old, averaged19.6 points, 5.1 assists, 3.9 rebounds in 52 games. While Bledsoe, 26 years old averaged 20.4 points, 6.1 assist and 4 rebounds in 31 games for the Suns. The two guards are talented, young and athletic, but have had issues staying on the court in the past. The Suns could be interested in Providence’s Kris Dunn and could be the reason why they are actively shopping their guards in order to draft Dunn if he would to fall in their laps with the fourth overall pick.
