New Trailer from NYCC: ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’
New York Comic-Con is where fans get all kinds of new footage, sneak peeks, and information about their favorite movies, television shows, and comic books. Today, we got the first trailer for the Pacific Rim sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising. The film stars John Boyega (Attack the Block, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Jake Pentecost, the son of Staker Pentecost (Idris Elba).
The basis of the film is the next generation taking on the kaiju after the previous generation simply delayed the war with their sacrifices. That generation included Staker, who gave his life in the first Pacific Rim film to close the breach.
Alongside Boyega, Charlie Day will reprise his role as Dr. Newton Geiszler, Burn Gorman will return as Dr. Hermann Gottlieb, and we’ll see Rinko Kikuchi again as Mako Mori. Charlie Hunnam will not be reprising his role as Raleigh as far as we know. New cast members include Scott Eastwood, Tian Jing, and Nick Tarabay.
Check out the trailer for Pacific Rim: Uprising below.
Did that trailer make you excited for the film to see next year? It’s set to come out on March 23, 2018.
