NFL Draft Profile: Will Fuller
Will Fuller- Wide Receiver- Notre Dame
Size: 6’0 186 lbs
- Fast, fast, fast
- Solid route runner
- Elusive with ball in hands
- Can beat press coverage with legs
Analysis: Will Fuller is fast. After recording a 4.32 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, Fuller’s draft stock is on the rise. After being named the Irish team MVP with 62 receptions for 1,258 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2015, Fuller left the team a year early to turn pro. Fuller wasn’t a one-year wonder, however, as he had an outstanding sophomore campaign (76-1,094, 15 TD) and showed big-play promise (6-160, one score) as a freshman. He has elite acceleration to create easy separation vertically and cornerbacks fear his speed giving him ample cushion. Fuller is talented with the ball in his hands and can change direction without gearing down.
- Below average hands
- Needs to add strength/muscle
- Will not be an over-the-middle type of receiver
- Not a run-blocker at all
Analysis: Will Fuller’s frame needs some bulk, as his skinny legs and body will prevent him from getting physical with defensive backs and be a successful WR over the middle. He only logged 10 reps on the bench at the combine, showing his lack of strength. On tape, his hands are atrocious. He is the prototypical “body-catcher” failing to use his hands to make the catch, and logging nine drops in each of the last two seasons. Won’t offer anything as run blocker. However, when you are as fast as Will Fuller, you will hear your name called before most at the draft.
Draft Projection: Late 1st, early 2nd
