Standings after Week 15
Dan Schalk: 130-94
Brandon Reid: 140-84
Orlando Torres: 140-84
Week 16 NFL Picks
Rams at Titans
Dan Schalk: Tennessee Titans. He’s not playing this way, but I still believe Marcus Mariota is a better QB than Jared Goff. It’ll show on Sunday.
Brandon Reid: LA Rams. Perfect chance for the Titans to prove me wrong and pick up their biggest win of the year. But I don’t see it happening, and neither does Vegas. Rams are favored in Nashville by a touchdown.
Orlando Torres: LA Rams. Remember when the Titans were fun to watch this season? Me either.
Bills at Patriots
Dan Schalk: New England Patriots. The Bills are the worst team I have seen with a winning record in a long time.
Brandon Reid: New England Patriots. I want to pick the Bills in this one, but the last meeting in Buffalo didn’t give me much hope. These Patriots are vulnerable. Ask Miami. The Bills playoff hopes are on the line. I do not see a 23-3 blowout like last time. But I’m not picking against Tom Brady at home on Christmas. Word is he beat Old St. Nick back in high school.
Orlando Torres: New England Patriots. Bills fans are actually going to have a reason to jump through flaming tables, and put their bodies through more punishment after they get destroyed by the Pats.
Browns at Bears
Dan Schalk: Cleveland Browns. I brought out an article this week giving one stat as to why the Browns will win this game. I recommend you read it.
Brandon Reid: Cleveland Browns. This is the last chance this year for a Browns win, and I want to be there for it. It will be a Christmas miracle.
Orlando Torres: Chicago Bears. Can’t wait to see how Chicago looks next year, but until then the Browns may still be winless.
Falcons at Saints
Dan Schalk: New Orleans Saints. I NEED the Falcons to lose for my Cowboys to have any shot at the postseason.
Brandon Reid: Atlanta Falcons. My belief in the Falcons is driving this pick. I see no reason this team should not return to the Super Bowl. But they have been in a slight hangover all season long. I am very high on the Saints this year, but I’m riding with the dirty birds to step up and play clutch in this one. Saints are favored at home by six.
Orlando Torres: New Orleans Saints. My Cowboys need some help from our neighbors in the south, and their last meeting a few weeks ago I’m sure New Orleans is going to do whatever it takes to knock off Atlanta from playoff contention.
Lions at Bengals
Dan Schalk: Cincinnati Bengals. I would really LIKE the Lions to lose to give my Cowboys a better chance at the postseason.
Brandon Reid: Detroit Lions. There isn’t much that the Bengals do well this year. Maybe their coaching search will be a success in the next couple of months. This isn’t a gimme game for Stafford and the Lions, but they have a lot more to play for. The 6th ranked passing attack in the NFL should survive this one.
Orlando Torres: Detroit Lions. Man oh man, if you’re a Bengals fan I just want to say that I feel for you all. After seeing how Cincy had absolutely no life in them last week, I don’t see how they show up to compete with Detroit.
Buccaneers at Panthers
Dan Schalk: Carolina Panthers. I’m not a fan of crab legs.
Brandon Reid: Carolina Panthers. We are late enough in the season to make this proclamation…the Panthers are for real and the Bucs are not. Tampa got some Hard Knocks this year. Koetter should be re-examined real soon.
Orlando Torres: Carolina Panthers. If Winston can play like the way he did on Thursday night there’s a chance the Bucs could make this game interesting. Seemingly, it won’t be enough to tame the Panthers though.
Dolphins at Chiefs
Dan Schalk: Kansas City Chiefs. Smokin’ Jay will be ripping heaters as his Dolphins are down by 20 points at halftime.
Brandon Reid: Kansas City Chiefs. Feed Kareem Hunt the ball, win games. Duh! The Dolphins could play holiday spoiler in this one, but I don’t see it in Arrowhead. The Chiefs need to start resembling a team that you would fear in the playoffs. Their defense just isn’t that scary anymore. Another chance to work on that this week.
Orlando Torres: Kansas City Chiefs. As weird as this seems I think this is going to be a fun game to watch. First off Jay Cutler isn’t on prime time, so maybe the Dolphins might just show up here. In the end, Arrowhead is a tough place to play, just ask the Chargers.
Broncos at Redskins
Dan Schalk: Washington Redskins. I could care less about this game and I would prefer to watch an episode of Antiques Roadshow than these two bad teams.
Brandon Reid: Washington Redskins. Denver is a shell of themselves and the Redskins will make more big plays. I guess.
Orlando Torres: Washington Redskins. Meh… that’s my attitude for this game.
Chargers at Jets
Dan Schalk: LA Chargers. Bryce Petty still at QB? Yep, Jets lose.
Brandon Reid: LA Chargers. The Chargers are living off of their passing game and defense. The weather is actually going to be surprisingly nice on Christmas Eve in East Rutherford. The Jets don’t do much well and give up right at 25 points per game. The Chargers have something to play for and should survive this east coast trip.
Orlando Torres: LA Chargers. The Chargers might of shot themselves on the foot last week, but with the Jets suffering on both sides of the ball I expect the Chargers to bounce back for their playoff hopes.
Jaguars at 49ers
Dan Schalk: Jacksonville Jaguars. Don’t anoint Jimmy G until he actually plays a good defense. He will this week…and lose.
Brandon Reid: Jacksonville Jaguars. I’m not sure how motivated the Jags are to play this game, but talent and defense alone should be enough to clip the 49ers.
Orlando Torres: Jacksonville Jaguars. This is actually a hard game to predict. Fournette is finally back at practice, but his whole lower half is hurting, and Jimmy G is hot right now. But all good things must come to an end, and the Jags are the better team to stop the three game win streak of the Niners.
Seahawks at Cowboys
Dan Schalk: Dallas Cowboys. My Christmas will be ruined with a Cowboys loss.
Brandon Reid: Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks still have issues and they are not a threat to make a deep playoff run, if they make it at all. But don’t be fooled by the last two results. They played two of the league’s top three defenses in consecutive weeks. The Cowboys defense is not that. Plus, Russell Wilson > Dak Prescott X4.
Orlando Torres: Dallas Cowboys. Zeke the freak is back! After a six week layoff he’s coming back the complete opposite of Eddie Lacy as he’s ripped, and he may not score six touchdown like Gurley on the Hawks, but he’s still going to be a machine.
Giants at Cardinals
Dan Schalk: New York Giants. The way Eli played last week, #NewBreid is considering making him his early 2018 No.1 Fantasy Football QB—can’t be as bad as him having Andy Dalton in the Top 4 or Eddie Lacy as a RB2 right?
Brandon Reid: New York Giants. No one wins this game. But I think the Giants will have more points in the end. The Cardinals only muster 85 rushing yards per game and only score 17 points per game. The Giants aren’t much better, or better at all, but at least they have more of an identity right now. And that is let Eli sling it.
Orlando Torres: New York Giants. I feel horrible for Eli. What a disastrous season he had to go through, but I’ll take Eli over Drew Stanton on the road.
Steelers at Texans
Dan Schalk: Pittsburgh Steelers. TJ Yates is better at throwing a load of laundry in than throwing a football.
Brandon Reid: Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers are pissed and AB or not, they are going to rip through the NFL’s worst defense.
Orlando Torres: Pittsburgh Steelers. Yes the Steelers are horrible on the road, but they’ll be fine. Even without Brown.
Raiders at Eagles
Dan Schalk: Philadelphia Eagles. My dog is undefeated at NFL picks this season, so I went to him again for this selection. He rolled over when I said the Eagles and he played dead when I said Raiders. Eagles it is.
Brandon Reid: Philadelphia Eagles. I’m out on the Raiders. They disappointed me enough this year. I’m out on Jack Del Rio. The team seemed to lack effort and didn’t assert themselves all season long. They don’t do anything particularly well. My apologies if you drafted Amari Cooper. The Raiders leading receiver this year is Jared Cook with 638 yards. Let that soak in.
Orlando Torres: Philadelphia Eagles. The last time these two teams played Nick Foles dropped seven! Yes seven touchdowns on Oakland, in Oakland.
