Thursday Night Picks
Eagles (4-1) at Panthers (4-1)
Dan Schalk: Carolina Panthers. I love me some Carson Wentz, but I’ll take the home team with the better defense on Thursday night.
Brandon Reid: Carolina Panthers. What a great game for a Thursday night. Two 4-1 teams leading their respective divisions. Both play pretty good defense. Carolina is ranked in the Top 6 in both passing, and rushing defense while Philly is ranked 2nd in rush defense. So what’s the one ranking I left out? Philadelphia’s passing defense. It’s 4th worst in the league. I’m picking Cam to survive at home.
Orlando Torres: Carolina Panthers. I would’ve never guessed that Philly would be sitting at 4-1 leading their division, but after watching them play it’s easy to see why, and that’s because of their balance and the growth of Wentz. The Panthers on the other hand are playing with a chip on their shoulder and everybody is contributing on both sides of the ball. Give me the Panthers in a close game.
Malachi David (Celebrity Picker): Philadelphia Eagles. Carson Wentz is showing that he has the ability to become an elite quarterback. Cam Newton has been improving but I could see him having an off game. Wentz will throw for 3 touchdowns against a defense that is allowing quarterbacks to complete almost 70% of their passes.
